STIHL GB has extended their official sponsorship of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship into the 2013 season as the outdoor power tool company gear up for a sixth consecutive year of association with the leading motorcycle racing series.
STIHL is renowned worldwide amongst industry professionals for power and performance and first featured at MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship events in 2008, utilising the platform of the series to showcase their robust and high quality outdoor power tools. Like the high-octane world of racing, STIHL continues to develop their range to keep them ahead of the opposition.
STIHL products are also popular among gardeners and home owners for their impressive range of petrol, electric and battery powered tools as STIHL remains committed to innovation after over 85 years in business. A selection of STIHL products continue to feature on trackside boards at all twelve rounds of the championship; showcasing to both trackside fans and those watching on British Eurosport and ITV broadcasts. The season-long ‘STIHL Power Award’ league remains and rewards the rider who leads at the first checkpoint on the opening lap; the season winner receives a selection of STIHL Power tools with past winners including reigning champion Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne.
Marketing Manager of STIHL GB Sean Larter-Conway said: “We are proud of STIHL’s long-standing association with the British Superbike Championship. Our partnership continues to deliver great brand value and we are all very excited about the forthcoming season.”
MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship Series Director Stuart Higgs concluded: “The STIHL brand has always had a direct synergy with the power and engineering excellence needed to compete at the top level of motorcycle sport. This extended sponsorship demonstrates the relationship we have developed over the past five seasons with STIHL combined with the fantastic feedback from their dealers, demonstrating the strength of the Championship to promote a worldwide brand. We are both looking forward to the forthcoming season and working together to showcase the STIHL brand and take the partnership to a new level.”
The 2013 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship will again see 26 races held across twelve rounds running from April to October; with live coverage of races broadcast on British Eurosport, plus dedicated highlights programmes shown on both British Eurosport and the ITV network.
