After a magnificent double victory last time out at Thruxton, where a faultless 50-point haul pushed him right back into British Supersport Championship contention – Andy Reid now has his sights set on this weekend’s triple header at the famous Brands Hatch GP circuit in Kent.
The Northern Ireland based Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki ace, not only got back to winning ways during round six – which signified the halfway point in the 2016 season – he also re-ignited his confidence and drive for success on the Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki.
“Thruxton was a special weekend for a number of reasons, but to cap it all off – two wins and fifty points has drawn me almost level with Taz Mackenzie at the top of the championship standings. I like that!
“Last season I had two podiums on the Brands GP circuit at this stage of the season, and the two guys in front of me went on to take rides in the World Supersport Championship. This weekend we have three races at Brands and the goal will be to stand on that top step for the fifth time this year, at the very least.
“I haven’t taken anything for granted in the run up to the weekend and have been putting in a big effort, cycling, moto-crossing and banging in the gym sessions.
“To predict another clean sweep would be asking for a lot with three races on the card, but along with my Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki team, we will take each race as it comes and the goal – as always – will be to take the maximum number of points available.”
