Headlines

A warm, sunny evening promised some fast action at the Manx Grand Prix. At Douglas Road Corner, Kirk Michael, DSM Alex and his marshals went through their routine once the roads were closed. It was good to see some new marshals there; without them coming through the event will wither on the vine.

Jamie Williams was first to reach us; he was fast and on the ideal line. Chris Cook was next and he was similarly rapid. A little later Michael Mace was late turning in and ran very wide on the exit; but all was fine. Just after Davey Todd went past on his Classic TT Ducati, the red flag was shown; Toby Shann the first rider to park his machine with us. Andy McAllister had crashed at the Black Dub. He had been taken to hospital  for assessment on injuries to his shoulder and arm. Hopefully he will make a full recovery.

The machine spilled its petrol and oil onto the track. Despite a sweeper being deployed the track could not be made safe for a restart. Those riders out on track were eventually led back to the Grandstand by Chief Travelling Marshal Tony Duncan.
