Aprilia RS 125

Aprilia RS 125

Aprilia RS 125Born from the racetrack, gutsy, and expressive of dynamism and lightness with its own personal and recognisable style, the RS 125 underlines Aprilia’s passion for sport, combining all the technological refinements of a true Superbike. Exclusive ergonomics of a true supersport bike, streamlined fairing, aluminium frame, a generous engine and the best components and technical equipment with a look even closer to that of Noale’s flagship RSV4.

A big look to suit youthful passions
The styling of the Aprilia RS 125 is inspired in shape and colour by that of its multi-titled big sister, the RSV4, queen of sports bikes, an aggressive and original look that is underlined by the triple headlamp at the front, the motifi of its “big sister”. The sleek fairing enhances the exclusive aluminium frame, an entirely racing-inspired refinement that no competitor can boast. A winning solution that Aprilia takes from its experience on the track to reduce weight and bulk and give the vehicle textbook agility and handling. The tapering lines of the slender tail fairing seem to melt away into nothing, joined together with the LED taillight that, in the spirit of road safety, guarantees outstanding lighting power.

The Aprilia RS 125 is available in two liveries: Silver Speed and Black Speed. Both are sporty and characterised by graphics marked by a big ‘a’ on a red background, the emblem of the Aprilia motorcycles that compete on race tracks around the world. The tank graphics take up the motif of the Italian flag, highlighting the exclusivity of the RS 125, the only small sports bike to be designed, developed and built in Italy.

The 2020 range includes a special version, the Aprilia RS 125 GP Replica, with dedicated graphics strongly inspired by the racing world, equipped with Quick Shift transmission and standard seat cover.

The Aprilia RS 125 also boasts the most spacious storage compartment in its segment, a space that can hold a 6” tablet. A practical USB port can also be mounted to conveniently recharge your smartphone or any other compatible device.

Unique ergonomics, benchmark chassis
The overall ergonomics of the Aprilia RS 125 are designed for the track. No other 125 can convey a racing character like Noale’s 8-litre machine. It has a unique driving position: the half-handlebars, further forward and lower with respect to the steering plates, and the rearward footpegs, along with the overall seat-tank package, guarantee a true and uncompromising supersport riding position.

Developed on the basis of Aprilia’s experience on the track, the spectacular perimeter frame consists of die cast aluminium spars with crossed reinforcement ribs. It is a lightweight structure, capable of providing high torsional rigidity in order to guarantee top performance on the road and on the track.

The solid upside-down fork and the rear suspension with racing-derived monoshock secured to the asymmetrical swingarm ensure performance, top level safety and comfort. The split 6-spoke design of the wheels emphasises the purposeful character of the RS 125. A configuration that is once again the result of racing experience, ensuring lightness and speed in corner entry. The braking system involves a four-piston radial calliper at the front wheel, assisted by Bosch single channel ABS, which acts on a 300mm steel disc. The rear mounts a single-piston calliper that grips a 220 mm disc and has a phonic wheel to guarantee anti roll-over protection. Maximum performance and safety at every turn, thanks also to the new Michelin Original Equipment Tyres. The license plate mount and turn indicators can be easily removed for track use.

Racing instrumentation
Compact and lightweight, the instrument panel offers all the functions of a real racing instrument: from the analogue rev counter, to the multifunction digital display complete with speedometer, trip master (I,II), top speed, cooling circuit temperature gauge, fuel reserve light, OBD light and ABS malfunction light. The APRILIA MIA system control unit is also available as an accessory, to connect your motorcycle to your smartphone.

Motor
At the heart of the Aprilia RS 125 is a modern and technological 125 cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, with electronic injection and four valves: reliable on the road and generous on the track, it is equipped with particularly sophisticated technologies such as DOHC distribution. With ultra-modern conception and design, lightweight and compact, it has allowed development of a refined chassis. Its power, optimally calibrated, guarantees responsiveness even at low revs. Vibrations are reduced to the minimum by a balancing countershaft. Euro 4 homologated, it guarantees maximum performance while respecting the environment.

The RS 125 is ready for installation of the Quick Shift, the innovative system tested by Aprilia at circuits around the world. Just like with its big sister, the RSV4, the electronic system manages torque interruption for the engaged gear change, based on how far the throttle is open and the engine revs, allowing the rider to upshift while holding the throttle open and without using the clutch. The Model Year 2020 presents a further improvement in the quality of the transmission, courtesy of the new chain with O-Ring.

The exhaust, which is unmistakably racing inspired, is completely integrated within the lower part of the fairing. A solution with a strong aesthetic impact that effects the dynamic performance of the vehicle, based on the centralisation of the masses.

Aprilia Rs 125APRILIA RS, a unique sports history
With 20 world titles including Rider and Manufacturer championships and unsurpassed commercial success over time, the Aprilia RS 125 is symbolic of the Noale manufacturer’s sports DNA. It made its début in ’92 as the first example of combined content that was to become the true essence of Aprilia, that constant exchange of knowledge between the track and the road that infects both the sport and commercial spirit. The Venetian manufacturer’s first world title came in the 125 class, with Alessandro Gramigni in 1992; the latest – of the twenty it has collected – arrived in 2011, at the hands of Nico Terol. In between were two decades of near absolute domination in the segment which clinched the title as the most victorious European racing team in Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing.
