After four wins, a further podium and a host of top fives, Franco Bourne lifted the crown at Brands Hatch. Arriving with a slight deficit in the standings ahead of Race 1, the number 17 put in an almost perfect weekend to take the 2020 Honda British Talent Cup.
The season started with Bourne leaving Round 1 in the lead, but he’d been on the back foot for a couple of rounds heading into the season finale – with no podium since Snetterton. He’d been raking in the points though, and with only one DNF to his name remained in serious contention.
That was before he unleashed his unbelievable pace at Brands, where he finished the season 25 seconds clear in Race 1 and eight and a half seconds clear in Race 2 for a full 50 points from the final round.
