British Superbikes: Ryde within 0.040s of fastest ever lap of Cadwell Park to head off Ray by 0.007s.
Defending champion Kyle Ryde edged to within 0.040s of the fastest ever Bennetts British Superbike Championship lap of Cadwell Park this afternoon to hold off standings leader Bradley Ray by just 0.007s ahead of tomorrow’s opening race.
The Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha rider saved his best until his final lap of the session to launch ahead of his Raceways Yamaha rival, whilst Honda Racing UK’s Tommy Bridewell held a strong third place ahead of the team’s home round.
Charlie Nesbitt had been nudged to fourth on the MasterMac Honda with Bridewell’s final run improvement with Scott Redding completing the top five for Hager PBM Ducati.
Leon Haslam had been a pace-setter earlier in the session, but the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing rider comfortably qualified for tomorrow’s Omologato Superpole ahead of McAMS Racing Yamaha’s Danny Kent and Bathams AJN Racing BMW’s Storm Stacey.
Christian Iddon led the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki riders in ninth place, holding off Andrew Irwin in tenth place with Rory Skinner and Glenn Irwin completing the top twelve riders heading directly into Omologato Superpole.
