H&H Classics: A hugely impressive sales rate of 97 per cent was achieved by H&H Classics at its Classic Motorcycle and Vintage Scooter Auction, with more than 210 lots finding new homes.
Held on Wednesday 9 July at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, the auction saw total sales of over £1 million – double the combined lower estimates for all the lots.
There was strong interest across the board, not least for a superb 1981 Ducati Mike Hailwood Replica. Owned by its second owner since 1981, it was hammered away for£17,480, which is £10,980 above its lower estimate.

Not to be outdone, a fully restored, and much sought-after matching numbers 1939 Vincent HRD Comet, was sold for £33,350, which was also more than £10,000 above its lower estimate.
Mike Davis, motorcycle specialist at H&H Classics, said: “Our second classic motorcycle and vintage scooter auction of 2025 has continued the success of our first sale in March, which also achieved an incredibly high sales rate.
“It is further evidence that the right bikes, no matter their age, command a healthy appetite from enthusiasts.”
Meanwhile, two more bikes found new homes for more than £6,000 above their lower estimate. They were a rare and matching numbers 1956 Vincent Rapide Series D and a stunning 1968/2022 Norvin which were respectively auctioned for £28,750 and £32,430.
Bikes with star appeal, thanks to being previously owned by celebrities or appearing on TV or the silver screen, also put in a great ‘performance’.
This included a 1965 BSA A65 Lightning, an actual bike featured in the ITV drama ‘Boon’ selling for £5,060, more than £2,000 above its lower estimate, and a 1947 BSA A7 and Bracknell sidecar, property of actor and enthusiast Chris Barrie of Red Dwarf and The Brittas Empire fame, selling for £4,140, more than £1,500 above its lower estimate.
A 1997 Kawasaki KE 100, supplied new to Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, was hammered away for £2,760, which was £1,260 above its lower estimate, and a 2015 Husqvarna FE450, with strong evidence that it was used on the film set of the 5th ‘Bourne’ instalment starring Matt Damon, which found a new home for £5,060, more than £1,500 above its lower estimate.
There was also strong support for vintage scooters, not least an exceptionally good condition 1969 Lambretta DL200, auctioned for £10,465, almost £1,500 above its lower estimate, and a desirable 1970 Lambretta GP200 (225) ‘Supertune’ custom, selling for £9,200, which was £1,200 above its lower estimate.
