Kawasaki adds two new Z900RS options in 2021

One of motorcycling’s outstanding success stories of the recent past, the Z900RS has found equal favour with not just those new to the delights of retro riding but also enthusiasts who actually own the classic Kawasaki Z machines of yesteryear that so many of the RS styling statements are based on.

Evoking the legendary Z1 Super Four series of machines available between 1972 and 1976, the Z900RS matches a swathe of styling sentiment with up to date technology, electronic rider aids and chassis compliance carefully matching classic looks with modern convenience.

The four-cylinder water-cooled engine is equipped with traction control and an assist and slipper clutch making down-changes quick and seamless. Acceleration is brisk and, along with gathering speed, the expertly crafted “four-into-one” exhaust has been tuned to create the most evocative sound – true Z personality.

Wheels with multiple thin spokes are low maintenance yet have the look and feel of the Z1’s wire spoked items and the homage continues with Z1 style meters featuring subtle modern multi-function LED read outs.  The bright LED headlamp has a chrome bezel just like 1970’s machines and even the design of the oval LED taillight mirrors machines of the legendary Z line but with modern clarity and reliability.

From its teardrop fuel tank to flip up rear “duck tail” and authentic style side panel badges and 1970’s seat strap, the Z900RS achieves a successful balance between old and new taking the best from both while revealing a unique personality of its own.

Available once more in the Z1A style scheme of Candytone Green, the two additional colour ways for 2021 are Metallic Spark Black or Ebony.
