MotoE: The second electric pole of the year goes to the #40, with Q1 graduate Mantovani and Torres leading the chase.
Round 2 of FIM MotoE World Championship action has brought us to Assen and ending Friday on pole position is Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team). The Italian’s 1:39.943 was 0.069s quicker than Andrea Mantovani’s best effort as the KLINT Forward Factory Team rider comes through Q1 to earn a brilliant P2, while third place in Q2 went the way of Practice pacesetter Jordi Torres (Power Electronics Aspar Team).
It was a tightly contested Q2 session with two tenths splitting the fastest seven riders, with Torres leaving it late to claim an outside of the front row starting slot. It was a late lap that saw Nicholas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team MotoE) get shoved off the front row into P4, and joining the Italian on that second row will be Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE) and Alessandro Zaccone (Aruba Cloud MotoE Team).
The returning and riding wounded Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) produced a great lap to be under three tenths away from pole, the Brazilian launches from P7, and reigning World Champion Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP) is another high-profile returnee following injury – the #1 will start from P10.
That’s a wrap on Friday! The grids are set as we get ready for races three and four of 2025. Tune in for Race 1 at 12:15 (UTC +2) on Saturday, before Race 2 begins at 16:10!
