From the original race bike that inspired and created the Triumph Daytona name, through to Triumph’s recent and most significant Supersport TT bikes, the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience unveils its largest exhibition to date at the home of Triumph, within its Hinckley Headquarters.
Visitors to the Factory Visitor Experience will now be able to follow the bloodline of Triumph’s legendary Daytona with a new exhibition which will be on display from now until mid-August. An impressive layout presents 14 iconic Daytona motorcycles that illustrate in chronological order the timeline of this incredible model range and features the most important race-winning models, spanning across a 50-year period.
The centre point for this display and on display for the first time since a full nut and bolt restoration, is Buddy Elmore’s legendary 1966 Daytona 200 winning bike, the original motorcycle which coined the ‘Triumph Daytona’ name.
- This new exhibition delivers an engaging journey that showcases the evolution of one of Triumph’s most successful models to date, from the original Daytona racer that inspired the ‘Triumph Daytona’ name, to today’s TT and Supersport championship winning legends.
- In its first public display since undergoing a total restoration, visitors can view a truly iconic, original race legend at Hinckley. The display of the actual 1966 Daytona 200 winning motorcycle celebrates Buddy Elmore’s legendary ride from 46th place to 1st on a Tiger 100, the ‘Triumph Daytona’ name was born from this indelible moment in racing history.
- The exhibition includes 14 unmistakable machines, each with a fascinating story to tell, from Buddy Elmore’s 1966 historic Daytona 200 winner, to the first-ever Official Moto2™ Dorna Sports Licensed motorcycle, the Daytona Moto2™ 765.
- A rare opportunity to see up close Peter Hickman’s 2019 Isle of Man TT SuperSport and Ulster GP three times race winning Triumph Daytona 675R, alongside multiple BSB championship, Daytona 200, and Isle of Man Supersport TT winning Triumph Daytona motorcycles.
Simon Thrussell, Head of Customer Experience, Triumph Motorcycles said:“We are very proud to be able to showcase our largest ever exhibition to date and what better model to feature than the Daytona! You can literally see the prolific progression of the Daytona racing name within this display, its evolution over the years and how it became and continues to be, one of the most successful Triumphs of all time – with an ever-growing fan base. We’d like to welcome fans of Triumph and motorcycling to come to the Factory Visitor Experience and see first-hand this fantastic new exhibit, which has been a passion project for the Factory Visitor Experience team to create from the first day we opened. There’s never been a better time to visit our Factory Visitor Experience.”
