Radian was founded with a clear vision: to deliver riders a completely uncompromised electric offroad experience.
The company announces the launch of the Radian EXR: the first truly competition-ready electric enduro motorcycle, made possible by an innovative rapidly swappable battery system. As the company’s first production model, the EXR enables electric competition across all off-road disciplines, replacing the need for combustion-powered platforms in competitive off-road racing. The motorcycle is now available for reservation and will begin shipping to riders in selected markets from Q4 2027.
Radian set out to build an electric off-road motorcycle that is fully competition-ready and can far exceed the performance of a combustion-powered bike. Developed entirely from the ground up by an ambitious team with previous experience building high-performance electric superbikes, the EXR is designed with one clear objective: maximum competitive racing with minimum compromise. After three years of development, the result is the 70 hp strong Radian EXR, that successfully removes the last remaining barriers to electric enduro racing – limited range and long charging times.
At the core of the EXR lies Radian’s patent-pending InfiniPack battery system, which enables a full battery swap in less than 30 seconds, without the need for any tools. The InfiniPack system is made possible by the uniquely curved battery pack shape (the origin of the name ‘Radian’) that has been engineered to support a natural motion while swapping, allowing the battery to be removed and inserted in a highly ergonomic way. The curved shape also allows the rotating mass of the electric drivetrain to be positioned in the centre of gravity, which means the bike will feel lighter than ever. While riding, the just-swapped battery can be charged back up in the easily manoeuvrable InfiniDock charging station.
The EXR will be delivered with an 8.6 kWh Endurance pack, setting a new benchmark for energy capacity in electric enduro and motocross. The Radian EXR delivers riders 60 to 115 km of range at offroad race-pace, or 1 to 7 hours, at a competitive weight of 125 kg. For riders seeking a lighter setup, a 5.8 kWh Sprint battery pack will be available later, reducing weight to 113 kg.
The EXR’s innovative drivetrain platform is completed by a 336V electric motor outputting a staggering 70 hp and delivering 1060 Nm on the rear wheel. This mind-blowing amount of torque is directly available from standstill. Combining innovative inverter technology with a carbon-sleeved rotor, the silent and highly-efficient drivetrain revs all the way up to 14000 RPM, eliminating the need for switching gears. Instead, riders can fully focus on elevating their riding technique beyond previous limits.
The system is fully configurable through the accompanying app, allowing riders to adjust motor characteristics to their preference. Instant low-end torque combined with easy-to-feather throttle response to cross over any obstacles in hard-enduro, or a subtle roll-on power with mind-blowing top-end power for blasting over loose sand – its character is fully up to you. One bike, countless personalities.
To give riders the flexibility to bring the right tools for every situation, the EXR features Smart Storage integrated into its subframe. Through interchangeable modules, riders can adapt the platform for specific use cases by adding tools, spare parts, an onboard charger or other equipment directly into the bike. Because of this, with the Radian EXR, riders are – for the first time – no longer required to ride with a backpack. Radian will also publish 3D-files, enabling users to design and print their own inserts for the Smart Storage system.
The Radian EXR is designed with a progressive, purpose-built attitude. The EXR’s confident stance combines clean, flowing lines with functional details like ribbed patterns and visible bolts, finished with refined modern touches. The full LED Radian Vision headlight reinforces this, featuring a distinctive animated light signature that also serves as a charging status indicator. Its design philosophy also resonates in the EXR’s robust and minimal-distraction interface featuring an integrated enduro time-keeping system, saving riders value time and improving focus when it is most needed.
Its full aluminium chassis also distinguishes the EXR from its competitors. Radian uses this highly conductive and strong material to create a frame that not only delivers an agile and precise riding signature but also functions as a patent-pending thermal interface for improved cooling performance. The chassis is completed with high quality components like KYB suspension, Brembo brakes, and for the limited Founders Edition these are paired with Haan wheels with Excel A60 rims.
The EXR is designed for both competitive and recreational riders and will be delivered with full road homologation. While enduro is its starting point, the platform is intended to expand into additional segments, including motocross and supermoto. All of these will deliver a truly competition-ready machine to riders, while also significantly lowering running costs and reducing the amount of time spent in the garage. Less hassle, more riding.
The launch of the EXR marks the next era of enduro. Its purpose is not only to futureproof the world of offroad riding, but to definitively move it forward. The Radian EXR will be available from Q4 2027, starting in the The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, followed by a broader European rollout. The Radian EXR is competitively priced, available from €14,450. The motorcycle can be reserved through the Radian website: www.rideradian.com.
