Browne and Neve raise the bar at Classic TT.

There was a brief practice session for the Classic TT riders at the conclusion of the Supersport Manx Grand Prix that was won by popular local rider Jamie Williams. All classes took to the course giving us a frenetic first few minutes. As is now the norm, Nathan Harrison was first on track. He was rapid through Cruickshanks on his way to setting the best lap of the session at 126.611mph. There were some good laps put in by riders such as Jamie Coward and Ian Hutchinson. A little further down the leader board at 123.505mph, Michael Dunlop set the best ever lap by a rotary Norton; of course it does not count in practice. The engine sounded much better this session compared to the previous ones. Michael will not win; but it would great to see him complete the race.

Michael then went out on his Lightweight Honda; he was on course to beat his own fastest lap; but was slowed by the short lap procedure. Craig Neve put up a superb lap of 111.673mph; fourth best speed ever by a 400cc machine; including the TT; he displaced Paul Cassidy (109.362mph) from the top spot in the class.

Late in the session Mike Browne took over top spot in Senior Classic with a stunning lap at 112.48mph on the Peter Lodge (New Zealand) pushrod engined Norton ES2. In the Junior Classic, Paul Jordan was fastest of the day on what was his only lap to date; his speed 102.962mph; not enough to dislodge Mikey Evans from the top of the leader board.
