MotoE: Granado blasts to pole as Championship leaders start down field
MotoE: Another dramatic qualifying scrap in MotoE™ sees the Brazilian make it back-to-back poles whilst Casadei and Baldassarri both crash.
The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli delivered the goods again for MotoE™ qualifying. After his pole in Barcelona, Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) bagged another P1 in qualifying ahead of Alessandro Zaccone (Aruba Cloud MotoE Team) and Andrea Mantovani (KLINT Forward Factory Team). Both return to a front row which is covered by less than a tenth of a second.
Behind them, Nicholas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team MotoE) heads up the second row of the grid ahead of fellow countryman Nicholas Spinelli (Felo Gresini MotoE) and Q1 graduate Jordi Torres (Power Electronics Aspar Team). The main drama however was that Championship leaders Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Dynavolt Intact GP) crashed; Casadei went down on his out-lap in Q2 whilst ‘Balda’ crashed on his first flying lap in Q1. Both start 10th and 13th on the grid respectively.
Catch up with qualifying below and gear up for two classics on Saturday, kicking off at 12:10 and 16:10 Local Time at Misano!
