Motojunior Roars Into Action In Barcelona For Round 1The wait is over as the 2026 FIM MotoJunior World Championship got underway at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where a thrilling day of qualifying unfolded under the Mediterranean sun.

The Championship enters a new era with a fresh identity, but the intensity, talent and pure adrenaline that define MotoJunior remain as fierce as ever.

Moto3 Junior World Championship

  • Fernando Bujosa (AC Racing Team) claimed a debut pole in the Moto3 Junior World Championship in Barcelona after setting a 1:48.228s, less than a tenth clear of his rivals.
  • Leonardo Zanni (Momoven Racing) will join the Spaniard on the front row after lapping only 0.089s slower than the #69, bettering his best grid position (previously third, set at Jerez last year).
  • Up and coming Indonesian star Kiandra Rhamadipa (Honda Asia-Dream Racing Junior Team) made it two debutants on the front row as he secured third place with a 1:48.384s.

Moto2 European Championship

  • Eric Fernandez (Fau55TeyRacing) started 2026 as he left off in 2025, sealing his third pole position in a row in the Moto2 European Championship with a 1:42.263s; a lap time just under two-tenths of a second quicker than his closest rivals.
  • A familiar face on the World Championship stage, Dennis Foggia (Team Ciatti – Boscoscuro) showed his maturity to take second place in qualifying in the Moto2 ECh.
  • Last season’s Moto2 European Champion Milan Pawelec finished just 0.031s slower and will start from the front row as he begins his title defence at a circuit he won at six months ag

Moto4 European Cup

  • Lorenzo Pritelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) set the benchmark by claiming the first pole position of the Momoven Moto4 European Cup campaign ahead of the season-opener in Catalonia with a scorching lap time of 1:50.831s in a hotly contested Group B qualifying session and will start from P1 for the first time in the class.
  • A penalty for Alvaro Lucas (CFMoto Aspar Junior Team) for slow riding saw Cristian Borrelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) promoted to P2, meaning the Pasini Racing outfit will be celebrating a 1-2 at the front of the grid, although they can’t rest on their laurels just yet.
  • Antoine Nativi (JEG Take Off GP) will complete the front row for Sunday’s Momoven Moto4 European Cup race after the French rider delivered a sensational qualifying performance to ensure his best-ever grid position in the competition.

Stock European Championship

  • Blai Trias (GV Tamoil Racing) secured his first Stock European Championship pole position with a blistering 1:45.604s as he finished more than three-tenths clear of his rivals.
  • Yeray Ruiz (Team Honda Laglisse FPS) is the second rider of an all-Spanish front row after lapping the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in 1:45.941s.
  • Alberto Garcia (Top Surface Aspar Team), who ended 2025 with two podiums in three races, has a great opportunity to keep his run going. He’ll start from P3 on the grid after lapping 0.627s down on polesitter Trias.
