Alex Marquez will race on a Ducati Desmosedici GP Factory bike in 2026
Alex Marquez will race on a Ducati Desmosedici GP Factory bike in 2026, continuing with Gresini Racing. This announcement comes after a successful 2025 season, with Marquez currently second in the championship standings.
With 16 races completed and 21 podiums collected (11 in the Sprint races and 10 in the Sunday Grands Prix, including two wins at Jerez and Montmeló), Álex Márquez is ready to tackle the final stretch of the 2025 MotoGP season. With the title nearly secured by his brother Marc, Alex remains, mathematically, the only other contender.
With six races still to go, the younger Marquez brother aims to set new records. Today, however, there is another major announcement: in 2026, Alex will race aboard a Ducati Desmosedici GP Factory bike, while continuing to wear the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP colours.
ALEX MARQUEZ #73
“It’s an honour to be racing on a factory bike with Team Gresini. The team has been working impeccably for a few seasons now, and I believe this is a reward for everyone — for myself and the whole team. This is another step forward towards our dreams and doing even better in 2026. I’d like to thank Nadia, the team, and of course Gigi and Ducati, who have made me feel important at every moment.”
NADIA PADOVANI GRESINI – TEAM OWNER, GRESINI RACING
“This is news of great importance for Gresini Racing. I would like to thank Ducati and Eng. Dall’Igna for the trust placed in Alex and in our team. The results achieved this year, and in previous seasons, have led us to reach this great milestone. We are happy that Alex, starting next year, will ride with a factory bike. As a team, we are ready to take another step toward excellence. 2025 will be an unforgettable year, and we already like 2026 a lot.”
LUIGI DALL’IGNA – GENERAL MANAGER, DUCATI CORSE
“Alex Marquez’s season has been impressive. After a series of evaluations, Ducati Corse has decided to further increase our support so that the rider and his working group can continue to grow. Álex is making the most of the Desmosedici GP’s potential, and we are convinced that, with new updates, next year we will continue to improve together. This will be an added value for the whole Ducati family.”
