Andrew Irwin Hints At 2026 British Superbike Plans

“I think I have the best opportunity I’ve ever had in BSB [ British Superbikes ] and I’m very grateful for the opportunity I have to do it”

Andrew Irwin confirms he’ll be on the grid for 2026, though the former Honda rider didn’t confirm bike, team or championship, he did say: “I have seen my bike, I have sat on my bike, and I’m very happy with what I will be doing in 2026″
He went on to explain that this off season has been a little stressful since parting ways with Honda; “I’ve been a professional motorbike racer for the past eight years, I’ve been paid a salary, and whenever you get let go, as I did from Honda, you obviously stress a little bit and worry.”

A crash at Donington Park ruled him out of the final three rounds of 2025 and his departure from Honda was announced ahead of the final round at Brands Hatch;
“January has been a great month and obviously for us as motorbike racers we can work on training again. I got injured in September so I had a slightly longer off season than normal, so I’ve really been enjoying training again.”
Rumours continue to circulate that Irwin may have taken on the task of running himself under his own steam onboard last seasons PBM & TAS Racing Ducati V4’s – watch this space!
The 2026 British Superbike season gets underway 3 April with official testing taking place at Donington Park with the season opener being at Oulton Park for the May bank holiday weekend.
