Worldssp: Booth-Amos Delivers On Home SoilWorldSSP: Tom Booth-Amos produced a superb comeback ride to claim victory for PTR Triumph Factory Racing despite serving a six-place grid penalty.

Starting from ninth on the grid, the British rider dropped to tenth on the opening lap before methodically working his way through the field. Decisive overtakes on Aldi Mahendra and Can Oncu on Lap 10 put Booth-Amos into the lead. From there he pulled clear to win by almost two seconds. The victory was Booth-Amos’ second in the WorldSSP class and delivered Triumph’s first Supersport victory on home soil.

Championship leader Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) strengthened his title advantage with another measured ride to second place. The Spaniard spent all 19 laps inside the podium positions, extending his championship lead to 68 points after another mistake-free performance.

Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) completed the podium after an impressive recovery. Having dropped from the front row to eighth on the opening lap, the Spaniard fought back through the field before successfully defending third place over the closing laps to secure his first podium finish of the season.

It proved to be a frustrating race for Arenas’ closest championship rivals. Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) crashed at Goddards with just over a third of the race remaining, while Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory) was limited to eighth place.

Booth-Amos will start Sunday’s race from pole position after setting the fastest lap during Race 1.Worldssp: Booth-Amos Delivers On Home Soil

P1 – Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing)
“It’s emotional to win at home. It’s a different feeling because I’ve won races before but it’s been a long time. Winning at home is something different. I’ve had podiums here at Donington but never a win. It’s a cool feeling to see the whole crowd behind me. I’ve never experienced that before, so it’s really special. I had a lot of doubt at times so it’s nice to prove people wrong and show what I can do and get back to the form I know I’m capable of. If I can just keep doing what I’m doing I feel good and the bike feels good. If we can finish in the top three in the championship that would be pretty amazing.”Worldssp: Booth-Amos Delivers On Home Soil
