After a year that tested him more than any season before, Carl Harris is heading into 2026 with renewed confidence, a fresh mindset and challenge.
2025 marked his first full campaign in the British Supersport Championship after making the ambitious jump straight from the Superteen 400 class. It was a move few riders attempt so early in their careers, and Harris always knew the challenge would be huge. Yet even in a tough season, moments of real promise shone through, particularly in wet conditions, where his natural feel and motocross honed throttle control repeatedly put him among some of the quickest on track.
His performance at Knockhill was a standout, running top ten pace and proving to himself and others that he belonged at this level.
“I’ve always known the wet is a massive leveller,” he said. “When it rains, I know I can be right up there. At Knockhill I had the pace to be in the fight, it gave me a real boost.”
But the biggest learning curve came from adapting to the speed, intensity and physical demands of the 600cc machine.
“You think it’s just the same points but a bit faster,” he laughed. “Then you get out there and you’re hitting everything twice as quick. It changes everything, the bumps, the lines, the way the bike reacts. This year taught me so much.”
Now, Harris is preparing for what promises to be the most exciting season of his short career to date. A fresh opportunity, a new environment, and a package he genuinely believes in have transformed his outlook.
A New Chapter Begins
Harris confirmed that he will be moving onto a new bike and into a new team, the ROKiT Rookies. Under the guidance of British Superbikes Championship winner, Leon Haslam, Harris will embark on a season in the Sportbike Championship onboard the Suzuki GSX-8R.
“I’m buzzing for next year,” he said. “I know the bike is capable. I know the team is capable. And I know I’m capable. It feels like everything is lining up for me to show what I can really do.”
The move also gives Harris something he desperately missed last season – meaningful testing time.
“I think we’ve got three pre-season tests planned plus the official BSB tests,” he said. “Seat time is everything for me. I’m still early in my career, so getting that chance to learn and push properly is massive.”
A Young Rider With Big Ambition
Despite his age, Harris is far from inexperienced when it comes to overcoming challenges. His motivation comes from a deeply personal place, shaped by loss, family and resilience.
“I do this for my mum and dad,” he said. “They’re what drives me every day. No matter how tough things get, nothing compares to what I’ve already been through. That’s why I never give up.”
It’s an attitude that shows on track and in the paddock, where Harris has earned a reputation for always having time for his supporters.
“I treat people how I want to be treated,” he smiled. “Fans, Sponsors, Families, I love speaking to them all. I’m just a normal lad who loves racing motorbikes.”
Building for the Future
With a fresh start ahead, Harris is also welcoming new supporters into his journey. Sponsorship remains crucial for any young rider, and he is open about inviting partners onboard.
“Racing isn’t a cheap sport, and I don’t come from a wealthy background,” he said. “I find my own backing and work hard for it. Anyone who wants to join the journey, big or small, I’m always grateful, and my direct messages are always open.”
Alongside racing, Harris is also working towards his road bike licence with RJH Motorbike Training. RJH Motorbikes followed and supported Harris during the 2025 season and have been excited to put Harris through the paces on the road.
“Scott and the team at RJH have been mega,” he said. “they are based in Manchester and I live in the Yorkshire Dales – I can’t wait to get out there on an enduro bike someday when I have passed my licence !”
2026: A Season to Watch
After a character-building year, Harris is approaching 2026 with one clear goal:
“I want to win,” he said simply. “I know I can get back on the podium. I know I can fight at the front. I’ve just needed the right package and now I’ve got the chance to go and prove it.”
With a positive mindset, a renewed sense of direction and a team behind him that believes in his potential, Carl Harris now steps into the new season ready to show exactly what he’s capable of. And if his determination is anything to go by, 2026 could well be the year everything changes for Carl ‘Bomber Jr’ Harris.
