WorldSSP: Valentin Debise produced a remarkable recovery to claim his first career WorldSSP Superpole at his home round.
The EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory rider crashed at Turn 15 early in the 40-minute session but returned to the track and left his best until the final moments, setting a late lap to secure pole position.
Debise’s performance also delivered a landmark result for ZXMOTO, giving the manufacturer its first WorldSSP pole position. His teammate Federico Caricasulo joins him on the front row in second position.
Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) looked on course for a home-round pole for much of the session before eventually settling for third. The Frenchman nevertheless secured his best qualifying result since Round 5 at Most and will start from the front row.
Championship leader Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) qualified tenth after spending much of the session looking set for a fifth row starting position. While Debise, his main title rival, will start from pole position the other leading contenders face an even tougher challenge, with Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) starting 13th and Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) lining up 18th.

“I’m very pleased with this pole position. It was completely unexpected because I had a crash in the morning and then again in the afternoon. At the end I needed to calm down and take it easy. I didn’t push like crazy on my first exit because I was trying to understand the bike but then I fell. The bike had much more potential than what I was using so I told the team not to change anything and let me go again with the same bike and a new tyre. The bike was amazing and gave me all the potential I needed to get this pole. I’m also very happy for Federico with his second position.”
