Sterilgarda Max Racing Team ready to debut in the Moto3 World Championship 1
The Sterilgarda Max Racing Team, which has been involved in the Spanish and Italian championships for three years, makes its debut on the Moto3 world stage. With Team Owner Max Biaggi, six-time World Champion, and Team Manager Peter Oettl, the young team is set to play at the top level in the coming seasons. The bike used will be the KTM RC 250 GP.

The rider chosen for the important debut is Arón Canet, Spanish class 1999, in his fourth year in the World Championship. Grown up in the spanish CEV, Arón made his debut in Moto3 in 2016 and immediately took a podium finish. In 2017 the young Iberian showed a steady growth, with three victories and two podium finishes that allowed him to take third place among the riders. Not as lucky was the 2018 season where, despite four second places, he had to settle for sixth place in the final ranking.

The championship that is about to start is full of expectations. The team is young but tested, made up of experienced technicians, and Canet has shown to have the papers in order to fight at the top of the category.

Not an easy task in an extremely competitive mix, as Team Owner Max Biaggi confirms: “Both for me and for the fans, Moto3 is the most exciting category after MotoGP. There’s always battle, the gaps are small, so it’s natural for me to start our world stage adventure from here. For us it’s a big step, a dream come true, but immediately after the dream comes the programming and the work. From this point of view, I feel I can say that we have prepared ourselves in the best possible way. The team is made up of technicians who have great experience in the World Championship, and has had the opportunity to blend with the experiences in the Italian and Spanish championships. Arón is a rider that I liked right away for his determination and tenacity, even if he will have to learn how to handle the pressure to make the final leap in quality. We chose KTM, a European brand with great potential”.

“For me this is the year of revenge – confirms the Spanish rider – the bases are all there. I found a prepared and motivated team, in the tests we immediately established a good feeling and I think that the support of Max and Peter can give us a boost. We fight against historical teams and very strong riders, in Moto3 a false pace can make you move from the podium to fifteenth place because the fight is always extremely tight. I think that with commitment and consistency we can get some great satisfaction”.

Peter Oettl, who will lead the work of the Sterilgarda Max Racing Team, has quite clear ideas: “2019 is our debut season but we can’t take it as an excuse. We are supported by high-level partners, we have an important name to honor and Arón is a rider with the potential to win. We have prepared well in the tests, the team has shown cohesion and great technical preparation: it will be essential to maintain the same level of concentration throughout the Championship”.
