With the cold, wintery months behind us, it’s no surprise that Brits from across the UK are already looking forward to the summer sun. To give you something specific to look forward to, here’s a comprehensive list of the UK’s top motorcycle events for summer 2019, from June to September:
MACH Motorbike Festival
Date: 6th – 9th June 2019
Location: Cae Hafren, Llanidloes, Powys, Wales
There’s surely no better way to kick off the summer than to go to the MACH Motorbike Festival. Now in its fourth year, MACH has become one of the most popular, unique and innovative motorcycle events in the UK. Some key things to look forward to are the mass ride-outs which take you across some of the UK’s best roads, the D.I.Y routes that you can experience whenever you like, and a green laning experience for off-road lovers.
With live music and exciting performances from illusionists, contortionists and more, MACH Motorbike Festival is an event not to be missed.
Prescott Bike Festival
Date: 15th – 16th June 2019
Location: Bugatti Owners Club, Prescott Hill, Gotherington, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
For the first time in history, the Kickback Custom Show will be held at Prescott Bike Festival, where you’ll find the very best of custom and shed builds all in one massive marquee.The main show is scheduled for the 16th June, while the preview is the previous day.
On the Sunday (main show day), you’ll get to experience the festival’s famous ‘paddock specials’ event which features rare, invitation-only bikes including factory builds, shed builds and record-beating machines.
Prescott Bike Festival also hosts passenger experiences, so if you don’t have your own bike for the ‘run the hill’ event, you can still get involved. All you have to do is sign up on the day to be a passenger for one of the exhilarating racing bikes – or one of the vintage three-wheelers if that’s more your style.
Date: 17th June 2019
Location: The British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire
This year, The British Motor Museum will be hosting the Banbury Run, a ride-out which consists of around 500 veteran and vintage bikes that will set off in regular intervals, starting and finishing at the British Motor Museum.
If you have a vintage bike of your own, sign up quick to join the ride. Even if you don’t have a qualifying bike, you can still make your way there and witness the incredible display of hundreds of beautiful machines.
Lincolnshire Bike Week
Date: 17th – 24th July 2019
Location: TBC, various venues along the Lincolnshire Coast
While the location isn’t confirmed, be sure to expect a full 7 days of bike nights, beach races, top bands, camping, ride outs, track days and more hosted on the stunning Lincolnshire Coast. Lincolnshire Bike Week is a favourite among bikers and enthusiasts alike – an event not to be missed.
Aberdare Park National Motorcycle Road Races
Date: 20th – 21st July 2019
Location: Aberdare Park, Glan Road, Aberdare, South Wales
Popular among the TT community, this annual race has been running since the 50’s and has grown in popularity over the years. Even if you’re not a racer yourself, everyone and anyone is welcome to watch these invigorating races. With superbike legends making appearances, like Carl Fogarty, Mike Hailwood, John Surtees and Dan Shorey – just to name a few – the Aberdare Road Races are not to be missed.
70’s Bike Day
Date: 21st July 2019
Location: Ace Cafe, Ace Corner, London
Starting from 9am on 21st July 2019, Ace Cafe will be hosting 70’s Bike Day where you can expect to see original Z900’s, CB400’s, 550’s and 750’s, as well as Bonnies, Tridents, Tigers and so much more. If you’re a big 70’s fan, this will be the event for you.
Date: 2nd – 4th August 2019
Location: Brecon Beacons, Wales
This women-only motorcycle, outdoor and adventure festival is held in the beautiful Brecon Beacon National Park, and given the success of 2018’s event, it’s easy to see why it’s happening again. With ride-outs, riding lessons, dirt-biking and trails classes, there are plenty of motorcycle-oriented activities and events to experience.
At Camp VC, you’ll also find other exciting outdoor activities to enjoy, including climbing, skateboarding, camping and yoga. And be sure not to miss out on the inspiring talks and discussions held by pioneering biking women.
Ulster Grand Prix
Date: 8th – 10th August 2019
Location: Rusheyhill Road, Dundrod, Northern Ireland
Known as the world’s fastest road race, the Ulster Grand Prix welcomes more than 50,000 spectators each year and sees some of the biggest names and brightest talents compete. First promoted in 1922, this iconic race has witnessed legends like Stanley Woods, Mike Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini, Ray McCullough, Joey Dunlop and more, compete on the track.
Date: 17th – 26th August 2019
Location: Isle of Man
If you’re a fan of classic motorcycles, this event should pique your interest. At the Classic TT Races, witness the world’s best riders battle it out on the track with specialists from the classic racing scene. Entrants make their way at speed around the tortuous TT Mountain Circuit, across four individual races on some of the most vintage and iconic motorcycles around.
Ace Cafe Reunion Weekend
Date: 6th – 8th September 2019
Location: Ace Cafe, Ace Corner, London
Another not-to-be-missed motorcycle event held at the legendary Ace Cafe, the Reunion Weekend features three exhilarating rides over a period of three days. Bringing together bikers from all over the UK, this much anticipated weekend includes ride-outs, awards, prizes, special guests, DJs, live music and much more.
Kempton Motorcycle Jumble
Date: 14th September 2019
Location: Kempton Park, Staines Road East, Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex
With visitors and traders from all over Europe swarming to attend the Kempton Motorcycle Jumble, this spectacular event has been running for more than 30 years. The portfolio of events consist of 7 one-day jumbles across the year, so if you can’t make this one, you’ll have plenty of opportunity throughout 2019. Who knows, you could end up buying and insuring a motorbike of your own if you haven’t already!
