After an exciting season finale of the inaugural British Talent Cup, it’s now time to look towards 2019 and gear up for the lights to go out on the second season. Two important pieces of the puzzle have now been released – the Entry List and the calendar – giving us more than just a sneak peek of what’s to come.
The Entry List is a mixture of returning riders and those who were chosen as candidates at the Selection Event ahead of the 2018 British Grand Prix. 12 of the riders competed in the inaugural season and there will be 11 rookies selected in August who will now join them on the grid. That’s one big shake-up for the year, but the calendar remains similar to 2018.
A test at the beginning of April will give riders their first taste of 2019, before the season opens at Silverstone alongside the British Superbike Championship later that month. From there it’s a double dose of Donington – first alongside BSB in late May before another round racing as part of the UK Round of WorldSBK in early July. Snetterton then welcomes the Cup later that same month, before the final two rounds of the season take place at MotoGP™ events: the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and the season finale at Valencia.
