Razgatlioglu leads the charge: WorldSBK Official Test hints at thrillling season opener

Razgatlioglu Leads The Charge: Worldsbk Official Test Hints At Thrillling Season OpenerIn the final test before the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship kicks off, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) emerged as the standout performer, obliterating the lap record with an impressive time of 1’28.511s at Phillip Island.

His dominance was closely contested by Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), who despite a crash at Turn 4, managed to set an impressive time of 1’28.585s.

Meanwhile, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) showcased consistent form, securing third place overall. Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) also made waves with a strong performance, finishing in fourth position. The top five was rounded out by Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team Motocorsa Racing). Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) showed promising form, consistently in the mix and eventually finishing in fifth place overall.

Both Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) had a challenging final day of testing. Bautista struggled with discomfort aboard his machine due to a nagging injury, leading to a mixed performance as he finished in seventh place overall. Meanwhile, Rea endured a significant crash at Turn 11, leaving him visibly uncomfortable and down the order in 15th place.

Additionally, Honda encountered troubles with Iker Lecuona (Team HRC) sustaining an injury following a highside at Turn 11, sidelining him for the remainder of the test, while Tarran Mackenzie (PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda) also endured a crash at Turn 3, resulting in significant damage to his bike.Razgatlioglu Leads The Charge: Worldsbk Official Test Hints At Thrillling Season Opener

“I was worried before, because I’m not usually strong at this track. But we started very strong, with a strong race pace. The problem was the rear tyre. After 10 laps, it was a bit destroyed with the new track surface because we have too much grip. I did a very good lap time; this is the lap record, but this is testing and not the race weekend. I’m just focused on the race and today, I was working for the race. For me, it’s important to get a good result, a podium, and I hope to fight for the win. The race won’t be easy because the tyre’s life is different. We don’t know yet if it will be a flag-to-flag race.”

#QatarTest: Bagnaia heads Martin as Aprilia and KTM close in

#qatartest: Bagnaia Heads Martin As Aprilia And Ktm Close InThe rivalry continues but the competition is on the chase on Day 1 in the desert

After Day 1 of action in the desert, it’s a familiar name on top: Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). But the reigning Champion was closely trailed by his key 2023 rival Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), just 0.220s adrift, and they had some closer company in Qatar. Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro kept pace with the GP24s once again for P3, with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder close on the chase in fourth.

The day started a little dusty and windy, but once the sun began to set, we saw a flurry of time attacks come in. Bagnaia led the charge, though he still has a ways to go if he wants to reach the all-time lap record 1:51:762 set by Luca Marini during the 2023 Qatar GP.

#qatartest: Bagnaia Heads Martin As Aprilia And Ktm Close InDucati Lenovo, Prima Pramac, Pertamina Enduro VR46 & Gresini
Ducati’s momentum from Sepang seems unabated, with a focused testing regime centered on refining the new engine and evaluating different fairings and exhaust setups. Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) both left it late until they went out on the full-spec 2024 machine, and found immediate improvements in their one lap pace.

Fabio Di Giannantonio’s (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) hugely encouraging pre-season continues as he took P5 to help back up his Sepang performance, while Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) finds himself outside the top 10 on Day 1. At Gresini Racing, Alex Marquez claimed seventh on the timesheets with Marc Marquez in P16. However, the eight-time World Champion recorded 58 laps on Monday, meaning he has now clocked over 280 laps aboard the Desmosedici without crashing.

#qatartest: Bagnaia Heads Martin As Aprilia And Ktm Close InAprilia & Trackhouse Racing
Sporting their sleek 2024 livery, Aprilia can certainly be encouraged by their performances on Day 1. Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) spent a large portion of the day in P1 before slipping to sixth, while Aleix Espargaro surged up to that P3.

At one stage, three RS-GPs occupied the top three places on the timesheets, with Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing) putting in a brilliant effort to join his factory counterparts at the business end of proceedings before ending the day 12th. Teammate Miguel Oliveira, meanwhile, was further down the order as the Noale factory continue working towards 2024.

#qatartest: Bagnaia Heads Martin As Aprilia And Ktm Close InRed Bull KTM & Red Bull GASGAS Tech3
There’s plenty of encouragement on the timesheets for the RC16s once again, with Brad Binder taking fourth just thousandths off Espargaro ahead. Meanwhile, the good reading continued as Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and rookie Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) both in the 1:52s, while the latter spun the most laps of anyone with 73. Augusto Fernandez’ (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) pre-season frustrations continued on Day 1 though, with the 2022 Moto2™ World Champion placing P20 while also suffering a crash in addition to some technical issues earlier in the day.

From a testing perspective too, the Austrian machinery was quite busy with two new specs of engine plus a range of different aero set ups on the programme.

#qatartest: Bagnaia Heads Martin As Aprilia And Ktm Close InRepsol Honda & Castrol/Idemitsu Honda LCR
There are plenty of reasons to smile if you’re a Honda fan, as it seems that progress seen in Sepang has kept rolling at Lusail. Johann Zarco (Castrol LCR Honda) was the top Honda rider in P9, and he did his time attack on the new aero they brought to Qatar. Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team) was next Honda, a couple of tenths in further arrears, before Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda LCR) and then Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team), the latter of whom was feeling under the weather on Day 1. It seems the Japanese brand have settled on their new engine though, while all four riders used the new swingarm seen in Sepang.

#qatartest: Bagnaia Heads Martin As Aprilia And Ktm Close InMonster Energy Yamaha
Having claimed an opening day top 10, Tuesday will be an intense day according to Fabio Quartararo as the Yamaha star looks to find a way to make the M1 smoother and improve their grip on time attacks. That is the major issue facing the Iwata factory, and the 2021 World Champion believes they still have a lot of work to do to achieve that next step. New teammate Alex Rins was a little further down the order, but the all hands on deck continues for the Iwata marque with test rider Cal Crutchlow still putting in the laps too.

That’s it from Day 1! Tuesday sees MotoGP™ back on track in Qatar, with more track action from 14:00 to 21:00 (UTC + 3) – followed by a 15-minute practice start session. So join us on motogp.com, across social media and then live from Lusail for the last session of pre-season!

Infront Moto Racing and KTM AG Open Registration For Junior E-Motocross

Infront Moto Racing And Ktm Ag Are Excited To Open Registration For The 2024 Junior E-motocross SeriesInfront Moto Racing and KTM AG are excited to open registration for the 2024 Junior E-Motocross Series

Registration for the 2024 Junior e-Motocross Series is now officially open! Returning for a fourth term after being co-created between Infront Moto Racing and KTM AG in 2021, the 2024 edition of the pioneering, e-powered racing series will kick off in May at the MXGP of France. With last year’s edition attracting full gates of 40 young riders at every event, parents and guardians of interested riders are encouraged to sign up now to be in with a chance of securing a place.

Since joining forces three years ago to create the Junior e-Motocross Series, Infront Moto Racing and KTM AG have delivered on their mission to develop the skills of talented young racers who have dreams of one day competing in MXGP. The all-electric racing series continues to benefit every rider as all five rounds take place alongside selected events on the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar.

For 2024, the Junior e-Motocross Series will once again be contested over five rounds. The same racing format is also retained for the new season with all 40 riders taking to the track for a short qualifying session to determine gate pick, before lining up for two races in front of thousands of spectators. And just like the stars of the FIM Motocross World Championship, the top three riders overall will climb onto the podium to celebrate their success after their second moto.

The simple entry requirements for 2024 are that riders must be aged between 6-8 years old (age taken on January 1, 2024) and ride an electric-powered KTM SX-E 5, GASGAS MC-E 5, or Husqvarna EE 5. A commitment to entering at least three rounds must also be made with successful entrants receiving a special care package consisting of branded merchandise dependent on the bike they will compete on.

David Luongo, Infront Moto Racing CEO: “It’s clear that the partnership formed between Infront Moto Racing and KTM AG in 2021 to create the Junior e-Motocross Series has been really successful. We are now entering the fourth year of this series and the positive feedback we have received from the riders and their families throughout the last three years makes all of the hard work behind the scenes worthwhile. For every young rider out there, and their family, the experience of competing at MXGP races is something really special. For the manufacturers, KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles, and GASGAS, they can gain valuable information on their bikes as they are being raced on the toughest tracks in the world in a competitive environment. Of course, e-powered motorsport is constantly evolving and for Infront Moto Racing, it’s really important to have this series running alongside the FIM Motocross World Championship.”

Federico Valentini, Vice President Global Motorcycle Marketing, KTM AG: “This year will see the fourth running of the Junior e-Motocross Series and I know that it will once again attract full line ups in 2024. It’s become really popular, and for KTM AG and its brands, it is really important for the electric-powered bikes to be raced in front of such a huge audience watching in person, or at home on television. As the global leader in offroad racing, we know how important it is for youngsters to be involved with something that is becoming quite prestigious. The memories they make will last a lifetime while at the same time, they are learning about the professional side of racing. This is really important because what the riders will learn cannot be taught anywhere else except for at the Junior e-Motocross Series.”

Montella fastest on the last day of WorldSSP pre-season testing

Montella Fastest On The Last Day Of Worldssp Pre-season TestingThe World Supersport Official Test at Phillip Island showcased remarkable performances. Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) claimed the top spot, edging ahead of the competition by a mere 0.062s, while Federico Caricasulo (Motozoo ME AIR Racing) made history with the first-ever 1’31s lap at Phillip Island, finishing just behind Montella. Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) secured the third position, matching the pole lap record but trailing behind Montella by three tenths.

Adrian Huertas (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team) demonstrated his speed despite a crash during the session, securing fourth place, while Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) and Can Oncu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) claimed fifth and sixth positions respectively, showcasing their competitive edge in the field.

Meanwhile, former WorldSSP Champion Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) returned with a strong performance, securing seventh place, and Marcel Schroetter (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) maintained his momentum from the previous season, finishing eighth. Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph) impressed with his transition to the Street Triple RS 765, securing ninth place, while Jorge Navarro rounded up the top ten, marking a promising start for the WRP-RT Motorsport team in WorldSSP. The test day witnessed intense competition and notable performances setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.

Piotr Biesiekirski (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) brought out the red flags when he crashed at Turn 2 with just over an hour to go in FP2, with the Polish rider taken to the medical centre. At the end of the session, he was transported to hospital by helicopter; he is conscious but suffered a head injury and concussion.Montella Fastest On The Last Day Of Worldssp Pre-season Testing

P1 | Yari Montella | BARNI Spark Racing Team
“It was great! We enjoyed the new tarmac a lot. We worked a lot on race pace and tried to do a time attack. I’m happy because it was unexpected; I found a good feeling and good pace with the bike. There was a lot of grip; from last year’s race pace, I think I went 2s quicker than last year and it’s good tarmac for sure. Now, we need to rest because today we did a lot of laps. I saw a lot of riders faster in this test: Caricasulo, Huertas, Manzi, Schroetter, Oncu, a lot! Let’s see but I hope to stay where I am and enjoy the weekend and the start of the season. I like this circuit; we were fast last year but in Race 1, I broke my collarbone. I hope this year is better than 2023 and we’ll try to do our best!”

Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale Confirmed for Final WorldSBK Weekend of 2024

Yamaha R3 Blu Cru European Superfinale Confirmed For Final Worldsbk Weekend Of 2024The third edition of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale will take place during the final round of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) at Circuito de Jerez in Spain from 18-20th October.

The first two editions of the Yamaha R3 European SuperFinale were held alongside rounds of the FIM Superbike World Championship at Portugal’s Autodromo do Algarve in Portimão, but a new venue has been confirmed for 2024 with the Jerez circuit set to play host to the talented bLU cRU youngsters, many of whom will be racing on the world stage for the first time. This is a prestigious slot for the event as it coincides with the season finale of the WorldSBK calendar, which is sure to attract large crowds and extra media attention.

Yamaha’s bLU cRU program is an award-winning platform that forms the foundation of the Yamaha Racing pyramid and is designed to cultivate the next generation of young riding talent. Open to riders aged 14-18, those who compete in the SuperFinale will be selected after a season in their national R3 Cups and Challenges.

The international field of competitors will have a dedicated ‘village’ within the Jerez paddock and will be provided with support and guidance from bLU cRU Rider Coach Lorenzo Alfonsi during the weekend. They will also have the opportunity to mix with Yamaha’s top WorldSBK and WorldSSP riders and spend time on stage at the Paddock Show. The young competitors will enjoy plenty of track time with Free Practice sessions and Qualifying followed by the two all-important SuperFinale races.

The R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale allows Yamaha Motor Europe to assess the riders who have been competing at national level and reward their talent with supported rides in the following season’s R3 bLU cRU European Championship. It’s a system that works, as illustrated by the 2022 SuperFinale winner Emiliano Ercolani, who went on to be crowned as R3 bLU cRU European Champion in 2023 and will now step up to the FIM Supersport 300 class with a fully supported ride for 2024. The overall winner of this year’s SuperFinale will automatically win a place in the 2025 FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup, and a second stand-out rider will also be chosen by the Yamaha Racing Committee to win a place in the World Cup.

The event also provides a good ‘taster’ opportunity for those wishing to step up to World level; this year five riders who competed in the 2023 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale are signed up to ride full-time in the 2024 FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup.

Video highlights of the FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale at Jerez will be available on the Yamaha Racing YouTube channel. Updates will be published on the Yamaha Racing social media channels and website.

#QatarTest: the final countdown to competition is on

#qatartest: The Final Countdown To Competition Is OnTwo more days of testing provide the class of 2024 their final chance to prep for a record-breaking season

We already got an incredible first taste of the season ahead thanks to a star-studded Shakedown and the headline-making Sepang Test, and now there are just two more days of track action before we go racing. Here’s where we left off and what to look for in Qatar – as well as how to stay up to date across the final pre-season prep!

HOW TO FOLLOW THE ACTION
On motogp.com, Live Timing, minute-by-minute reports and a final round-up at the end of the action provide a 360 of everything that’s happening – and there’s also plenty of live content!

On social media, a midday live broadcast from pitlane reporter Simon Crafar and tech guru Jack Gorst takes you to the heart of the action, and After The Flag will then link up live to Lusail with interviews and more at the end of each day. As with Sepang, the live show begins half an hour before the track action ends, and the broadcast will be anchored in Barcelona by Louis Suddaby and Elliott York.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Ducati Lenovo, Prima Pramac, Pertamina Enduro VR46 & Gresini
After domination right at the top thanks to a new fastest ever lap from reigning Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), backed up by a fast showing from Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) on the chase and Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) in third, signs are very positive for the newest Borgo Panigale machine. We won’t have Franco Morbidelli back in action just yet at Prima Pramac Racing, but he’ll be looking positively at the performance of the machine he’ll be racing this season.

Meanwhile at Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, new arrival Fabio Di Giannantonio hit the ground running in Sepang, putting in a seriously impressive Tissot Sprint simulation, whereas Marco Bezzecchi will be looking for a little more. He’ll also likely have an eye on the Rins Cup – the informal but much-feted competition to beat Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) to the honour of first on track every day. At Gresini Racing MotoGP™ it’s an interesting dynamic too: Alex Marquez was fast from the off, fourth overall and only just behind Bastianini, whereas Marc Marquez’ focus was “laps, laps, laps” as he looks to find every limit of every part of his new machine. The number 93, whether 19th or 1st on the timesheets, is sure to make more headlines at Lusail. He also reminded everyone in Malaysia that the testing venues since Valencia are both tracks he’s always found tougher…#qatartest: The Final Countdown To Competition Is On

Aprilia & Trackhouse Racing
It was a test of two halves in Sepang, or a test of two opinions. In one camp, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) said it was their best pre-season yet and he was fifth overall. But teammate Maverick Viñales and Trackhouse Racing’s Miguel Oliveira found it a more difficult test, and they’ll be looking for much more in Qatar – either in terms of adjustments to get the same out of the package as Espargaro managed to do, or in hardware. The Noale Factory also haven’t run their new engine through its paces to define their final spec yet, something they said we’ll see in Qatar, and we’ll also see Raul Fernandez back on Trackhouse duty after his crash saw him sit much of Sepang out.

Red Bull KTM & Red Bull GASGAS Tech3
The fastest Austrian machine overall was Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) as the outfit look to go from frontrunners to the factory to beat, and he and teammate Jack Miller will undoubtedly continue with their pre-season modus operandi: putting everything through its paces and fitting everything together before being concerned with a serious assault on the timesheets.

But it was rookie sensation Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) who stole many of the headlines, fastest at the Shakedown, fast in the Sepang Test and with a very impressive Tissot Sprint simulation that was the best of the RC16s over nine laps. Based on his performances in the World Championship paddock so far, it’s both very Acosta and yet genuinely still remarkable at the same time. Will he keep that run going at Lusail? On the other side of Acosta’s box, meanwhile, Augusto Fernandez will be looking for more. A tough Sepang Test leaves him seeking some big steps forward before the lights both come on and go out in the desert for racing.

Repsol Honda & Castrol/Idemitsu Honda LCR
After we’ve seen the genuinely quite different liveries from Repsol Honda and Castrol Honda LCR revealed this week, the Japanese giants will now be back on track and back to work as they push to return to the top. There were positive signs at the Sepang test that steps forward have already been made, and a whole lot of positive vibes. Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team) led the charge on the timesheets, Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda LCR) was next, then Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR) before fellow new arrival Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team), but Marini also hinted at more hardware to come in Qatar as they methodically work their way through their updates for 2024.

Monster Energy Yamaha
There were positive signs from Yamaha in Sepang too, with only one slight cloud hanging over the camp: one-lap pace. It’s something Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) said they’ll continue focusing on until they make inroads, so over two more days in Qatar that will be one to watch. But those positives elsewhere were real, and there was a host of new stuff coming out the box in Sepang too, from the engine to the tail unit. So Quartararo and new teammate Alex Rins will have plenty to work with in the final two test days. And remember, the new concession rules mean both Yamaha and Honda don’t have to homologate a final engine spec and can keep testing throughout the season, so the end of Tuesday’s track action is far from their last chance to improve before the post-Jerez one-day test.

For now though, Monday and Tuesday sees MotoGP™ back on track in Qatar, with track action from 14:00 to 21:00 (UTC + 3) on each day – followed by a 15-minute practice start session. So join us on motogp.com, across social media and then live from Lusail as the final pieces of the puzzle slot into place before the first race!

WorldSSP grid gears up for Season Opener with final pre-season test

Worldssp Grid Gears Up For Season Opener With Final Pre-season TestGrid updates
Changes are abound on the WorldSSP grid for the upcoming season. Adrian Huertas steps into the spotlight, taking Nicolo Bulega’s place at the Aruba.it WorldSSP Racing Team, while Valentin Debise is set to represent the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team.

Stefano Manzi, the 2023 runner-up, continues his journey with the Pata Yamaha Ten Kate outfit, now joined by Glenn van Straalen. Marcel Schroetter, who secured third place in last season’s standings, remains with the MV Agusta Reparto Corse outfit, alongside Bahattin Sofuoglu. Despite facing challenges in the 2023 season, Can Oncu returns for his fifth campaign with the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing outfit. Meanwhile, Yari Montella, a podium finisher in 2023, remains committed to the Barni Spark Racing Team.

Making a return to WorldSSP are Lorenzo Baldassarri (ORELAC Racing VERDNATURA) and Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha), eager to build on their past successes.

Exciting debuts await at Phillip Island, with new riders and teams entering the WorldSSP arena. Niccolo Antonelli joins the Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team, while Triumph expands its presence with a second team in the series, WRP-RT Motorsport by SKM-Triumph, featuring Jorge Navarro and John McPhee.

New regulations
In 2024, WorldSSP undergoes significant scheduling changes. Notably, the grids for Race 2 will now be determined by the fastest laps recorded in Race 1 for the top nine contenders, emphasizing outstanding performances. The Tissot Superpole sessions take place on Friday, after a Free Practice session in the morning. Alongside these changes, the SBK Commission introduces sustainable fuel for both the WorldSBK and WorldSSP categories, commencing from the 2024 season, with a mandatory minimum of 40% sustainable fuel content.

Pre-season insights
During the pre-season tests at Jerez and Portimao, WorldSSP riders exhibited their skills and readiness for the upcoming season. Marcel Schroetter led the pack at Jerez, with Stefano Manzi close behind. Can Oncu showed promising performance. At Portimao, Adrian Huertas maintained his dominance, topping the charts ahead of Niccolo Antonelli.

Countdown to Round 1: WorldSBK heads to Phillip Island

Countdown To Round 1: Worldsbk Heads To Phillip IslandWhat to look out for in Phillip Island
  • The WorldSBK grid will have a final opportunity to fine-tune their setups before the season opener with a single day of testing scheduled at Phillip Island on Tuesday.
  • Ducati’s Nicolo Bulega and BMW’s Toprak Razgatlioglu, currently the fastest in pre-season tests, will tackle the Australian circuit with their new bikes.
  • Alvaro Bautista, discreet during pre-season as he adapts to new weight regulations, will focus on readiness for the opening round of the season.
Grid transformations and new horizons

The 2024 WorldSBK grid sees major changes, with only four teams unchanged from last year.

Toprak Razgatlioglu departed from Yamaha to join the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, where he teams up with Michael van der Mark. Jonathan Rea ended his longstanding partnership with Kawasaki to join Pata Prometeon Yamaha alongside Andrea Locatelli, bringing a fresh dynamic to the grid.

Nicolo Bulega’s promotion to the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team, partnering with Alvaro Bautista, came after an impressive 2023 WorldSSP campaign which saw him clinch the title. Axel Bassani stepped up to the Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK after Rea’s departure, transitioning from Ducati. Out of the five factory teams in 2023, only Team HRC have kept the same line-up as last year, aligning Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge.

Additionally, Sam Lowes and Andrea Iannone made their much-anticipated debut in WorldSBK with Elf Marc VDS Racing Team and Team GoEleven respectively. With these seismic shifts in the WorldSBK grid, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive season.

Navigating 2024 new regulations
In 2024, significant rule changes are in effect. Riders below a reference weight must add ballast to their bikes. A fuel capacity limit of 21 litres is now enforced, and fuel flow regulations are under scrutiny, with some bikes collecting data this season. There’s also been a change with RPM limits. Manufacturers will start 2024 how they ended 2023 – except Ducati, who have their original 2023 limit back.

Pre-season insights
The Official Test at Phillip Island serves as a crucial platform for teams and riders to assess their readiness for the season ahead, as pre-season testing has already provided insights, setting the stage for Round 1.

Toprak Razgatlioglu’s move to BMW proves promising, with a strong pace and significant improvements noted. Jonathan Rea impresses despite lacking outright speed, showcasing consistent performance during testing. Meanwhile, Alvaro Bautista’s adaptation struggles and injury setbacks contrast with Nicolo Bulega’s standout performances for Ducati

Triumph Reveals New Tiger 1200 Updates For 2024

Triumph Reveals New Tiger 1200 Updates For 2024Triumph Motorcycles has revealed new features and enhancements for its Tiger 1200 family for 2024, making the range even more advanced and refined.

The updates include further refinements to the engine, enhanced comfort and ergonomics, improved cornering ground clearance, reduced seat height with Active Preload Reduction and distinctive new colours.

Triumph’s 1160cc triple engine now delivers an even more refined riding experience, with superior low speed control, whilst retaining the exciting and unmistakable triple character from its T plane crank.

With changes to the crankshaft, alternator rotor and balancer to increase engine inertia, plus some associated engine calibration changes, the Triumph engineering team has been able to create a smoother and more precise low rev torque delivery. Customers will be able to feel the increased smoothness while accelerating or decelerating, especially at low speeds. An updated clutch design will also mean that riders experience a smoother engagement when changing into first gear,

Triumph has also enhanced the all-day comfort of the Tiger 1200 for customers looking for long-distance touring capability. The engine itself is now even smoother and more refined, thanks to a revised engine balancing strategy, which improves comfort through all the key rider touchpoints.

The dampened handlebars and risers, which have proven so popular in the Explorer models, have also been introduced to the GT Pro and Rally Pro, delivering a smoother ride with increased mirror visibility.Triumph Reveals New Tiger 1200 Updates For 2024

The rider seat has been re-designed with a flatter profile, providing more space for the rider which will help reduce fatigue on longer trips. The accessory low seat, which reduces the seat position by 20mm to give a lowest seat height of 830mm on the GT Pro and 855mm on the Rally Pro, has also been designed to be significantly more comfortable. A longer clutch lever has also been introduced, providing increased space for riders’ fingers adding further comfort especially on longer journeys.

Triumph has also increased the cornering ground clearance of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer models, by lifting the footpeg positions and moving them closer to the bike. The new Active Preload Reduction feature, which was revealed in August 2023, offers the rider greater confidence by reducing the rear suspension preload as the Tiger 1200 slows to a stop, lowering the seat height by up to 20mm, simply by pressing the ‘Home’ button on the switch cube for one second.

The Tiger 1200 is now available in four variants, with new colours for 2024. The Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer, tailor made for the perfect road-focused adventure ride, are now available in eye-catching Carnival Red, as well as the previous options of Snowdonia White
and Sapphire Black. The Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer, perfect for an all-terrain adventure, are available in stylish new Matt Sandstorm, and Jet Black options, as well as the popular Matt Khaki.Triumph Reveals New Tiger 1200 Updates For 2024

Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent said: “The updates to the Tiger 1200 range for 2024 will deliver an even more refined ride, broadening its global appeal. While the current generation model has already made a big impact on this segment, more than doubling annual sales of the Tiger 1200 around the globe, our world-class engineering team is always looking for new ways to refine and enhance every model.

“By listening to customer feedback and integrating some of the new enhancements already revealed in the new Tiger 900, this range of updates come together to deliver a significant improvement to the riding experience.”

First launched in 2021, the latest generation Tiger 1200 was designed to be the world’s most capable, agile and manoeuvrable large capacity adventure motorcycle.  Since then, the Tiger 1200 range has seen global sales success, and the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer with its 30 litre tank, was even the bike of choice for Enduro World Champion Ivan Cervantes when he took the Guinness World Records title for riding the greatest distance in 24 hours on a motorcycle.

Yoshimura SERT Motul goes four it in EWC with Linfoot signing

Yoshimura Sert Motul Goes Four It In Ewc With Linfoot SigningYoshimura SERT Motul has announced its four riders for the four-round 2024 FIM Endurance World Championship, the fourth EWC season of the alliance between the Japanese Yoshimura organisation and the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team from France.

In addition to long-term Yoshimura SERT Motul star Gregg Black, Étienne Masson will embark on a second season with the squad, while Dan Linfoot has been recruited after impressing in the EWC during recent campaigns. Cocoro Atsumi, who joined the Le Mans-based team as a reserve for last September’s Bol d’Or, continues in the role for all four EWC events in 2024, as well as taking on the position of development rider.

The quartet will ride the Yoshimura-tuned Suzuki GSX-R1000R on Bridgestone tyres with the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans in France marking the 2024 EWC season kick-off from 18-21 April.

Yohei Kato, Yoshimura SERT Motul’s Team Director, said:“This year we welcome new rider Dan Linfoot, in addition to Gregg Black and Étienne Masson, and I am glad to make the announcement. He fits our team perfectly with his excellent performance at Suzuka and his extensive experiences in 24-hour endurance races. In addition, Cocoro Atsumi has been appointed as a reserve rider as well as a development rider. The technical team, led by Yoshimura Japan, is working hard to improve our race bike to provide the riders with a faster, stronger and more comfortable package. I believe the riders on the Yoshimura-tuned Suzuki GSX-R1000R will be able to show even better performances than last season.”

“Dan fits our team perfectly with his excellent performance at Suzuka and his extensive experiences in 24-hour endurance races”

Yoshimura SERT Motul Team Manager Damien Saulnier said: “A few changes have been made in the team, and we have three nationalities represented in our line-up. Yohei and I are delighted to announce the arrival of Dan Linfoot, our British rider, who will be a team-mate of Gregg Black and Étienne Masson. We were looking for an all-round rider, and I have no doubts about his talent, reliability and ability to fit in with the team. Furthermore, he has the advantage of knowing the FIM EWC circuits, and the 24-hour endurance races. Cocoro Atsumi will be a reserve rider and support us also as a development rider. The title of vice-world champion [in 2023] is a fine recognition of the mutual trust to bind us with our valuable partners. Many of them have been supporting us for years and it was not possible without them. Now let’s look ahead to the new season with high motivation and desire to win.”

Yoshimura Sert Motul Goes Four It In Ewc With Linfoot SigningDan Linfoot, a 35-year-old from Yorkshire in the UK, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Yoshimura SERT Motul for the 2024 Endurance World Championship. I have been taking part in selected EWC races and even had a chance to race a Suzuki at Suzuka [last August] and have experienced the GSX-R1000R and Bridgestone package. I really love endurance racing with its strategy and I am so excited to announce my new challenge. To be joining the team is very special, their history and pedigree speaks for itself, and I truly believe that, as a team, we can aim only for the victory and the EWC title. I’m very motivated and proud to be representing Yoshimura SERT Motul and Suzuki, and I can’t wait for the season to start. Together with my experienced team-mates, I am confident that we can deliver our targets. I am excited to start working at our first tests.”

Yoshimura Sert Motul Goes Four It In Ewc With Linfoot SigningUK-born French rider Gregg Black, 35, said: “I am very proud to be a part of this great team. The great victory in the last race of 2023, the Bol d’Or, reconfirmed our performance is high and we are ready to fight for more wins. I hope, once again, I can bring my experience and speed to get the title this year. I have been training hard this winter to be at my best. I am quite fit and I can’t wait to get back on the GSX-R1000R. This year we are welcoming new team-mate Dan Linfoot and I am looking forward to sharing the bike with him. The whole team and riders have a lot of experience, and I am sure that will be the key to success. Thanks to Suzuki for the great support as well as to all our partners and fans. We will give 100 per cent of ourselves.”

Yoshimura Sert Motul Goes Four It In Ewc With Linfoot SigningFrenchman Étienne Masson, also 35, said: “I am so happy to start the new season in the best team of the championship. The Yoshimura SERT Motul is a team with high performance and experience, and I am thrilled to be back to the race with them. Last year was a little bit frustrating with much bad luck. We were always on the podium pace but there were many unexpected issues or small mistakes, and they put us behind from where we should have been. I have never been motivated like this and really excited to start the season. Gregg is my long-time team-mate, even a good friend and Dan is not a stranger in the EWC. The team spirit will be perfect and I am sure we push for the top step of the podium together.”

Twenty-eight-year-old Cocoro Atsumi, from Japan, said: “I am excited and really happy to join such a strong team as Yoshimura SERT Motul. I appreciate the people who were involved in my career so far. My start [with Yoshimura SERT Motul] was as a reserve rider at the Bol d’Or last season, and it gave me an opportunity of a wildcard entry at the All Japan Road Race Championship and occasions of local tests. My understanding of the GSX-R1000R and Bridgestone tyres has been improving and also the teamwork has deepened. I hope to learn a lot from the team and my three strong team-mates this season, which will help me grow as a racing rider. I will do my best to achieve our goal to win each race and to get the EWC champion title. Of course I will standby for [when I am needed to race].”

Dainese introduces the next generation of racing boots – the Axial 2

Dainese Introduces The Next Generation Of Racing Boots – The Axial 2The all-new Axial 2 boots from Dainese are the next evolution of top-of-the-line Dainese motorcycle racing boots.

The same boots worn on the track by MotoGP champions – engineered for maximum protection, lightness and ergonomics – are now available for every rider.

Made from Dainese’s D-Stone™ technology – high-density twisted nylon with elasticated inserts faced with nylon to create an armoured weave that emulates leather – the Axial 2 are designed for racer-level performance.

Dainese Introduces The Next Generation Of Racing Boots – The Axial 2Certified to EN13634 Level 2, the Axial 2 is packed with Dainese technology including the innovative Axial Distortion Control System, an articulated internal carbon fibre structure that protects the foot from impacts and sprains whilst working to prevent anything penetrating inside the boot. There are replaceable magnesium sliders throughout the boot, which distribute force over a wider surface area to reduce injury in the event of a crash. The removable slider on the heel also allows the zip to be changed in case of breakage, helping to ensure the longevity of the boots in a racing environment.

With an exclusive Dainese patent, the Axial 2 features the Suit to Boot Fastening System, which allows for the boots to be worn under a dedicated suit, guaranteeing the best level of safety as it reduces the number of materials which could be caught in a motorcycle during a fall. This technology also ensures enhanced aerodynamics and comfort thanks to the reduction in the size of the boot and the increased adherence of the rider’s leg to the bike.

Dainese Introduces The Next Generation Of Racing Boots – The Axial 2There is a TPU gear shifter guard to keep the boots in tip-top condition and the Groundtrax® outsoles ensure stability, grip and traction thanks to their asymmetric design, specifically on the gear shifter and brake areas, to provide greater precision during the ride.

For comfort and ease, the Axial 2 close with a zipper at the back of the boots and there is a speed lacing system inside for the perfect fit. For added mobility, the flexible joints allow the ankle to move in a way that suits the riding style whilst still keeping the malleolus areas (the bony bits on your ankles) protected. Dainese Introduces The Next Generation Of Racing Boots – The Axial 2

Available in sizes EU39-47 in a choice of Black/Red-Fluro, Black/Yellow-Fluro and Black/Black, the Axial 2 has an RRP of £589.95.

The bags in the Sport-T range are made to withstand sports riding. For this reason, they are thermoformed and made of high-quality materials that comply with Reach regulations, such as 1200D polyester, high strength PVC, PU and thermoformed EVA coated with anti-scratch PU, ensuring durability and protection of your belongings.

Repsol Honda Team reveal brand-new livery for 2024 campaign

Repsol Honda Team Reveal Brand-new Livery For 2024 CampaignCelebrating 30 years of collaboration and partnership between Honda HRC and Repsol, Joan Mir and Luca Marini unveiled their striking 2024 Repsol Honda Team RC213V machines at the Warner Music Station in Madrid on Tuesday, February 13.

Arriving fresh from the first test of the year in Sepang, Joan Mir and Luca Marini joined friends, family, journalists and more than 600 guests to present the 2024 Honda RC213V for the 2024 MotoGP World Championship. A striking new livery complements the young and talented pairing of Joan Mir and Luca Marini as the Repsol Honda Team head into a new year of MotoGP action, determined to continue the strong progress made already.

2024 marks the 30th season of collaboration between Repsol and Honda HRC, the longest standing partnership of its kind in two-wheeled motorsports. The relationship has produced 15 World Championships, six different World Champions, 183 premier class victories, 455 podiums and nine Triple Crowns. Alongside the new livery, 2024 also sees the partnership enter a new era as renewable fuels are introduced into the MotoGP World Championship. The continued collaboration between Honda HRC and Repsol has ensured that the maximum level of performance has been maintained.

Joan Mir enters his second season with the Repsol Honda Team, now working alongside Santi Hernandez. A year of learning in 2023 has set the 2020 MotoGP World Champion up for significant improvements in 2024, his ambition for stronger results boosted by an impressive level of work and development from HRC’s engineers. To date, the 26-year-old has 13 premier class podiums and one victory, alongside his dominant campaign to win the 2017 Moto3 World Championship. Mir’s performance in Sepang demonstrated the improvements that both he and the Honda RC213V have made during the off-season.

On the other side of the garage will be Luca Marini, the 26-year-old becoming the 20th full-time rider to wear the colours of the Repsol Honda Team. Joining the premier class in 2021 after earning six wins and 15 podiums in the Moto2 World Championship, Marini has demonstrated clear progress in his development as a Grand Prix rider. In his three previous seasons in MotoGP, Marini has taken two Grand Prix podiums, two pole positions and four Sprint podiums. 2024 will be the first season of a two-year contract for the Italian.

The 2024 Honda RC213V not only features a new livery, but also a number of upgrades across the machine. From revised aerodynamics to improvements to the engine and chassis. An off-season of intense research and development has birthed a motorcycle which is the first step in closing the gap and battling for positions at the front. Both Tetsuhiro Kuwata, HRC General Manager, and Alberto Puig, Repsol Honda Team Manager, highlighted the importance that this season will play for the team and the championship.

The Repsol Honda Team will now head to the Lusail International Circuit for the final MotoGP pre-season test on February 19 to 20 before the season begins in earnest at the same track just two weeks later on March 08 to 10. It will be the first stop on a 21-race calendar which will span the reach of the globe before concluding in Valencia on November 17.

Repsol Honda Team Reveal Brand-new Livery For 2024 CampaignJoan Mir
“It’s amazing to be part of a team with such history and success in MotoGP, I am as excited to start this season with the Repsol Honda Team as I was the last one. These team launches are always really nice, especially to see what everyone thinks of the new design. I think the colours for this year are really different and very bold, certainly something unique from the team. We have had a positive first taste of the bike and five productive days in Sepang, now we have to look ahead to the Qatar Test and the race. Last year taught me a lot and I am looking to put everything into practice for this year to help the Repsol Honda Team return to where I know they can be. Let’s enjoy this moment and quickly prepare for the season that is to come.”

Luca Marini
“For me it is an honour to join the Repsol Honda Team, when I was a young child I already had some leathers in their colours for racing minibikes. Now to be here, at the launch, in the leathers and with the bike – it is a dream come true, something from destiny. This bike looks really beautiful, the colours are something very new and I am proud to represent them. We are just at the start of our journey together, but I already feel a part of the team and well supported by the engineers. I’ve ridden just six days on the bike so we are looking to make the most of the last test and begin the year in the best way possible.”

Tetsuhiro Kuwata
HRC General Manager
“2024 is a special year as we celebrate 30 years collaborating with Repsol and enter a new era with renewable fuels. Inside Honda HRC we have been working very hard in order to deliver a package to both Joan Mir and Luca Marini that they can be competitive on. Both riders are young, hungry and are already providing clear feedback for further improvements. It will be another season of developments, of working together with our riders, partners, sponsors, engineers and team members as we strive to improve.”

Marcos Fraga
Director of Communications and Corporate Marketing at Repsol
“This is not just any season. It marks the entry of renewable fuels into the MotoGP World Championship. In this way, top competition continues to be the best test bed to improve our fuels, which then reach our service stations and our customers. In MotoGP, we have the challenge of creating, together with our partner Honda, the best renewable engine-fuel combination with the aim of achieving sporting excellence and also the highest quality in our products.”

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Unveiled and Set For 2024 MotoGP™

Red Bull Ktm Factory Racing Unveiled And Set For 2024 Motogp™Covers off and sights narrowed: 2024 will represent KTM’s eighth year on the MotoGP grid and there have been plenty of milestones among the mileage. Brad Binder, Jack Miller, the full Red Bull KTM Factory Racing squad, the testing crew and engineering operation back in Austria are primed for another stellar campaign in which the sporting targets lie in the stats.

Red Bull Ktm Factory Racing Unveiled And Set For 2024 Motogp™The distinctive Red Bull KTM RC16s will be rattling lap records in the hands of Brad Binder and Jack Miller for the second year in a row. The fastest official motorcycle in the prestigious FIM World Championship – now 75 years in existence and watched by almost three million fans at the circuits in 2023 – will carry the latest engineering hardware, software and concepts from KTM Motorsports HQ and the rest of the factory structure. Binder has worked his way from 11th to 6th to 4th in almost half a decade and is now poised for even bigger prizes as one of the most highly rated riders on the 22-man grid. Miller also has his own personal goals and wants a top three championship slot and more after adapting rapidly to the RC16 at the outset of 2023. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing have already completed the opening test of the short pre-season period and will now head to Qatar and the Lusail International Circuit this week for the final two-day preparation sessions ahead of round one. Around this time and throughout 2024 the comprehensive testing outfit of Dani Pedrosa, Pol Espargaro, Jonas Folger and Mika Kallio and their respective staff will be making significant and key contributions to the MotoGP effort.

Red Bull Ktm Factory Racing Unveiled And Set For 2024 Motogp™Brad Binder: “The trajectory is on its way up. 11th, 6th, 6th and 4th so, yeah, I have no doubt we are going to do better than 4th. Last season was great at times and difficult at other moments. I felt like we had more in the pocket. We were much more competitive each weekend and always around the podium battle. This season is where we can make the difference. It’s awesome to be starting 2024 for real. It’s going to be my tenth season racing for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and it’s been an amazing journey. we have always stuck together and always had the same goal in mind. I think that we have always fit really well together, and I am really happy where I am. The only thing left is to try and finish off the job in MotoGP.”

Red Bull Ktm Factory Racing Unveiled And Set For 2024 Motogp™Jack Miller: “2023 was a year of learning and of growth for me as a person and as a rider. Towards the back half of the season we really got comfortable with the bike and were able to start challenging for positions where we needed to be. In KTM, and my dealings especially in the racing department, when they find something or find a pathway – new ideas, better ideas and strategies – then they go all -in on to have them on the track as soon as possible. Having that power and that motivation and that backing from the company is awesome as a rider. I didn’t get to achieve all the wishes I wanted in 2023. I have a whole new list of wishes for 2024.”

Francesco Guidotti, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager: “2023 was a good year. Very satisfying and where we grew quite a lot. We are pretty happy with how the riders and the bike improved. The approach for 2024 is easy: we have to move ahead with the growth we started last season. There will be areas where we still have plenty of room to increase our performance but in general the project is very balanced, so we just need to push when we know it is time to do it. I can’t wait to start the season and get to the first race because that is where we deliver. It’s when the speaking stops and the real action starts. No excuses. No matter what we have said or done during the winter, it is time to race.”

Pit Beirer, KTM Motorsports Director: “I feel that the package is very complete now and we have all the right people in the right positions and also the rider line-up makes me very happy. Everybody could grow over these last years. We’ve had these MotoGP wins and reached a lot last season: 4th in the championship, 2nd in the Constructors but, of course, our big target, our big dream, is pushing for the world championship and I feel in 2024 we are ready to do so. In general, we have now a great calendar and logistics-wise it is quite demanding for everybody; mechanics, riders, staff, team, everybody but we love racing so if you give us one more race then we will enjoy it every time. We know when it is time to ‘go’ and when it is time to shine. Racing is what drives us every morning to give our best; to be on the racetrack, be with the public, and that’s what the riders like and that’s why I think we are really prepared for ’24.”

Hubert Trunkenpolz, Member of the Executive Board: “Finishing 2nd in the Constructors championship last year is for sure something we can be proud of, but the important thing is that we could close the gap significantly to the competition. I think, next to the motorcycle, the biggest progress we have made is in the team structure. We added good people to the ones we already had, and the team has come together very well. A lot of it is about having the right people in the factory and the right people at the racetrack and the communication between them is super-important and this is where we made a big, big step. We are committed to MotoGP as much as we were on day one. We won’t give up until we have grabbed this title because this is something that we want to have, that we want to achieve and that we will achieve in time. MotoGP is the highest class in motorcycle racing and because KTM is a sport motorcycle brand we gain a lot of knowledge in MotoGP that we can convert into our serial motorcycle development so there is a close linkage. MotoGP is a very important testbench and development center for us and the media and brand value is huge.”

Engine customisation and suspension set-up made easy for all motocross and cross country riders.

New for 2024, the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) and Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app combine to help riders customise and fine-tune their offroad machinery, allowing them to become both faster and more knowledgeable. The CUO is now available globally and can be fitted to model year 2022 – 2024 FC 450 Rockstar Edition models, and model year 2023 – 2024 FC 250, FC 350 and FC 450 4-stroke motocross models. The Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app is available as a free download and once it is paired with the CUO, riders can create and save multiple engine maps and suspension set-ups for use at all types of circuits.

Downloading the free Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app gives riders instant access to the Suspension feature that offers an intuitive guide to setting the SAG, as well as suggesting set-up recommendations based on their weight and the track conditions. Settings are saved within a Virtual Garage on the app for future reference where riders can also access their Owner’s Manual. On top of that, a personal profile can be created where native languages and preferred dealerships can be selected.

Installing the CUO and pairing it with the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app opens up an extensive range of customisation options for riders to refine and enhance the on-track performance of their machine. Riders can create and fine-tune multiple engine maps to suit different terrain and their ability within the Engine feature.

Husqvarna Motorcycles App Elevate Offroad Riding PerformanceBy adding a GPS sensor, each lap of every on-track session is recorded and within the Rider section of the app – which is powered by LITPro – riders can review their on-track performance and view detailed analytics of how their machine is running.

After a successful introduction of the CUO on the 2024 FC 450 Rockstar Edition models, Husqvarna Motorcycles is proud to offer the pioneering component to even more riders. The CUO, together with the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app, allows all competitors to enjoy full customisation of their machine, discover how to set it up correctly and become a much more proficient and faster rider.

Triumph Returns To Daytona 200 With The PHR Performance Team

Triumph Returns To Daytona 200 With The Phr Performance Team13-Time Isle Of Man TT Winner Peter Hickman Leads Two-Rider Team For 82nd Running Of The Daytona 200.

The Triumph factory-supported PHR Performance Team will head to the USA in March this year to tackle the Daytona 200, with Peter Hickman and Richard Cooper setting their sights on clinching another victory with Triumph’s Street Triple 765 RS.

Hickman’s PHR Performance Team will be preparing two Street Triple 765 RS bikes in the UK, with the official support of Triumph. Now in its 82nd year, the Daytona 200 runs from March 7-9 at Daytona International Speedway, Florida, USA. The race itself gets underway at 1310h local time on Saturday, March 9.

The 2024 event presents an exciting opportunity for Hickman in particular, to compete at the race he’s long been keen to tackle, whilst also serving as a valuable chance for more track time aboard the Triumph machine that he’ll compete on at the Isle of Man TT.

Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer:
“Triumph is pleased to support Peter Hickman and Richard Cooper in their efforts to bring the Daytona 200 crown back to the UK with the PHR Performance Team. This iconic race holds a special place in the history of Triumph Racing In fact, Brandon Paasch won on the Street Triple 765 in its first outing at Daytona in 2022, and he credits the engine with making the difference when he powered to his dramatic victory. It’s the same three cylinder 765 that forms the basis of the bikes Hickman and Cooper are racing this year.

“This race, along with our entries into Supercross and Motocross, a strong commitment in Supersport and our continued role as the official engine supplier in Moto2™, means that 2024 should be a very exciting year for Triumph Racing.”

Peter Hickman, PHR Performance Team Owner and Rider:

“The Daytona 200 is a race that I’ve not only watched for many years, but also always wanted to compete in. To finally get everything in place to run not only myself but also “Coopes” as the official Triumph entry is absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait! We’re running the same bikes we’ll be running at the Isle of Man TT this year, so it gives us a good platform for extra testing.

“I need to thank a few teams for helping to make all this happen. Triumph Racing, Freedom Road Financial, Faye Ho and the FHO Racing team for not only allowing me to bring my own team to race here but also for supporting us, and of course David Robinson of Bathgate Group. Everyone has made a substantial input to get us ready. I can’t wait to get on track and experience Daytona for the first time. To say I’m excited is an understatement and I know that with the package we have, we will be strong contenders.”

Richard Cooper, PHR Performance Team Rider:
“I am mega excited to be returning to the Daytona 200! The last time I raced here was back in 2008 where I finished fifth in the main race. This year, I’m returning with Triumph and the PHR Performance Team on the Street Triple 765 RS I believe that with this team and this bike, we are capable of achieving top honors!

“It’s a huge effort from everyone in the team to get the bikes, equipment, and personnel over from the UK but with the team we have, I’m confident we’ll be right at the sharp end from the first practice. Looking at the previous results, the Triumph Street Triple has been a great package, winning in ‘22 and delivering a strong pace in ’23. I’m looking forward to meeting and putting on a good show for the fans in March.”

Triumph has a long association with Daytona, tracing its roots back to the factory team victories in 1966 and 1967 for Buddy Elmore and Gary Nixon, respectively. Sensationally, Brandon Paasch won in 2022 on the debut of the Street Triple 765 under the Supersport regulations, using the triple’s superior torque to power out of the last corner and judge his victory dash to perfection, taking the flag by 0.007 seconds.

Lee Hardy Racing and Kawasaki UK sign Davo Johnson

Lee Hardy Racing And Kawasaki Uk Sign Davo JohnsonLee Hardy Racing and Kawasaki UK sign Davo Johnson for 2024 Roads campaign.

Kawasaki UK and Lee Hardy Racing are excited to announce that they have teamed up with David Johnson for the 2024 International Road Race Season, with the experienced Aussie competing on a Ninja ZX-10RR in the Superbike and Superstock classes.

No strangers to the ‘roads’, the Lee Hardy Racing team are taking a year away from the British Superbike paddock to focus on the International Road Race Season. The Norfolk-based squad have signed Australian rider David Johnson, one of the most experienced riders on the grid, to compete in the 2024 North West 200, Isle of Man TT and Macau GP.

Davo, as he’s commonly known by his fans, will be racing a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR in the Superstock and Superbike races at both events, and he has already been getting used to the bike with laps on a standard ZX-10R in Australia.

David Johnson:
“I’m very happy to get the Kawasaki ride with Lee Hardy Racing. I’ve always got along great with Lee, and he always prepares immaculate, very competitive bikes. I have been riding a lot out here in Australia, and since agreeing on a deal, I’ve been extra motivated to be at the top of my game come May. Testing begins very soon, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Lee Hardy, Team Owner:
“I am looking forward to being back on the roads, especially as the Official Kawasaki Road Racing Team for 2024. I am pleased to have signed Davo for the North West, TT and Macau, and am sure he is going to be a great asset to the team. I am also very proud to be supported by Kawasaki and it is an incredible opportunity for LHR to officially represent the brand, as you can imagine with all new projects we can’t wait to get going!”

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:
“The Road Racing season is always an incredible spectacle, and it’s fantastic to have such a strong combination of rider and team for 2024, who we’re sure will put on a great show for the thousands of fans lining the roads. With a strict few months of training and testing planned for Davo and the team, we are sure they will be right in the thick of the action when the flag drops at the NW200 in May.”
