KYMCO UK’s positive outlook for 2024 coincides with the Taiwanese manufacturer’s 60th anniversary year, with attractive offers on key models in time for the recently launched ‘24’ registration plate – and the new biking season bringing better spring weather that invites tens of thousands of motorcyclists back on the roads.
The key models on offer that are part of KYMCO’s 60th birthday celebrations, include the Agility City+ 125 scooter and VSR 125 motorcycle, which have both had their limited time offers extended until further notice.
The Agility City+ 125 is a comfortable, safe and agile scooter, with an RRP of £2,559. It’s now offered with free on-the-road (OTR) fees within list price, as well as a free SHAD 29-litre Top Box – saving customers an average of £230.
The VSR 125 is a stylish and well-equipped naked bike for the learner or entry level motorcycle rider, with an RRP of £2,559. It’s now equipped with a sporty soundtrack, thanks to its free Delkevic performance exhaust with carbon silencer – worth around £200.
The Agility City+ 125 and the VSR 125, along with every other new petrol-powered KYMCO motorcycle or ATV are also equipped with two forms of Datatool security free of charge. Datatool’s Stealth Tracker (subscription required) and DNA Security Marking System are both included – saving customers around £400. This is part of the both companies’ commitments to tackling the increasing problem of motorcycle and ATV theft in the UK.
Neil Keeble, National Sales and Marketing Manager at KYMCO UK, said:“We are optimistic about the future growth of KYMCO as a motorcycle manufacturer in the UK, as several competitive models with attractive offers serve as a tempting low-cost alternative to rivals.
“While some may be new to the KYMCO brand, we are actually 60 years old in 2024 – and our long-established existence and experience remains the core reason why we’re a trusted brand of reliable and well-built products among our customers around the world.”
Established in Taiwan in 1964, Kwang Yang Motor Company was originally an overseas producer of Honda motorcycles for thirty years. In 1992 KYMCO began producing its own models under its own brand, by 2003 had acquired back Honda’s business interest and today markets its brand globally.
KYMCO UK remains committed to its belief that two and three-wheeled transportation is the fundamental element in delivering a UK-wide transport solution. For more information please visit www.kymco.co.uk
Twenty years after the first record-breaking Rocket III burst onto the motorcycle scene as the ultimate muscle roadster, a new generation of Rocket has been revealed, delivering more performance, better handling and a dark, moody colour scheme.
It even has a new name, the Rocket 3 Storm, to match its muscular style and spectacular riding experience.
Featuring the world’s largest production motorcycle engine with a capacity of 2,458cc, the new Rocket 3 Storm R and GT gain 15PS peak power, now delivering a massive 182PS at 7,000rpm.
Torque has also been increased by 4Nm, reaching a new peak of 225Nm at a low 4,000rpm. This flat, rich torque curve with maximum torque all the way through the mid-range gives explosive acceleration and effortless response in any gear.
The Rocket’s 16-inch rear and 17-inch front wheels have been updated with a sportier ten-spoke cast aluminium design, reducing unsprung mass. This reduction has a positive impact on steering response while on the move, improving the Rocket’s already impressive agility. The strong and lightweight aluminium frame, first introduced in 2019, uses cast and forged elements for an exceptional torque-to-weight ratio.
Following the sales success of recent special edition Rockets which featured blacked-out components, the new Rocket 3 Storm models feature a dark, moody colour scheme and an impeccable level of quality detailing.
The large 18 litre tank features the new Storm name, and each model has three distinctive two-tone colour options. The R is available in Carnival Red with Sapphire Black, Satin Pacific Blue with Matt Sapphire Black and Sapphire Black with Granite. The GT is available in the same colours, but the split of the tank is reversed, providing a distinctive, high impact look and consistent colour choice across both models. The Rocket 3 Storm also comes with high-quality black finishes throughout.
Also new for 2024, the Rocket 3 Storm now exceeds the latest Euro 5b requirements, featuring liquid cooling, low emissions and excellent fuel efficiency.
Paul Stroud, Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Known around the world as the ultimate muscle roadster, the Rocket has already achieved global sales of more than 18,000 since the 2.5 litre engine was introduced in 2019. By listening to feedback from our customers, we know they love the Rocket’s muscular presence and heart-stopping performance. We also know that riders desire even more.
“That’s why the new Rocket 3 Storm R and GT have been given an impressive power and torque increase, even greater agility and an even darker, moodier style and presence on the road.”
EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING
Harnessing the Rocket’s impressive performance to deliver a controlled and compliant ride, is a Showa monoshock RSU and piggy-back reservoir, fully adjustable for rebound and compression damping and preload. The forks are large 47mm Showas, adjustable for rebound and compression damping.
Exceptional stopping power is provided by top-specification radial Brembo Stylema brake calipers with twin 320mm discs. These lightweight, compact, and high performing calipers offer great airflow for pad cooling during spirited riding. The Brembo M4.32 4 piston radial monobloc rear caliper and 300mm rear disc is bigger and more powerful than the front brake setup on many bikes, helping to provide massive stopping power. The Rocket 3 Storm retains full optimised cornering ABS functionality.
DISTINCT ERGONOMICS
Each Rocket offers a distinct feel and personality, due to key differences in their ergonomics. The Rocket R’s roadster rider position and handlebar placement is designed to provide optimum power and control, to create a relaxed and engaging ride. The GT has a slightly more swept back set-up with a 125mm difference in grip position versus the R, for a more upright riding position.
Each model also gets its own dedicated seating set-up, each with premium black painted cast aluminium seat finishers. The Rocket 3 Storm R has a roadster rider and pillion seat with a 773mm seat height, offering comfort, low-speed confidence and manoeuvrability. The GT has a sculpted touring rider seat with a more generously padded pillion seat and an adjustable pillion backrest. The seat height for the GT is just 750mm, further improving comfort for the rider.
The biggest difference between the two models is the footpeg positions. The R has mid-foot controls, with two settings that offer 15mm of vertical adjustment, to cater for every size of rider, delivering a natural and sporty riding position. The GT has feet forward foot controls giving a laid-back custom bike feel, with three horizontal position settings offering 50mm of adjustment, to provide the most comfortable position for long rides. Both R and GT models have innovative, neat, blacked out, retractable pillion footrests.
BLACKED OUT STYLE
Flawlessly engineered with unparalleled attention to detail, the Rocket 3 Storm sets the benchmark for premium finish. From the black powder-coated intake cover to the hydro-formed exhaust headers, the materials used throughout the Rocket 3 Storm have been carefully chosen with an unmatched attention to detail, to deliver blacked-out attitude.
On top of that, Rocket 3 Storm also comes with high-quality black anodised finishes throughout; rear frame forging, swingarm guard, forks lowers and yokes, risers and handlebar clamps, RSU Rocker, seat finisher, footrests & hangers for rider and pillion, brake and gear pedals, levers, and side stand.
Amplifying the bikes’ aggressive stance and attitude, both Rocket 3 Storms have twin LED headlights with the Triumph maker’s mark triangle and signature shaped daytime running lights (DRL)*. There are LED indicators, rear light and number plate light, delivering a really distinctive light signature.
RIDER FOCUSED TECHNOLOGY
From lean-angle sensitive ABS and traction control to switchable throttle maps and intuitive cruise control, rider-focused technology allows riders to confidently exploit the Rocket 3 Storm’s epic performance potential.
Ride-by-wire enhances rideability, safety and control, while the Rocket’s high-performance gearbox is engineered with helical cut gears to transmit the huge torque to the rear wheel smoothly. The Torque Assist clutch helps riders shift up and down the six-speed box with satisfying speed and smoothness, while a Quickshifter is available as an accessory fit for both models.
Both models feature optimised cornering ABS and traction control for enhanced stability, improving both straight line and cornering, acceleration and braking. Hill Hold prevents the bike rolling backwards and applies the rear brake until sensing the rider is starting to move off. Both come equipped with four riding modes, road, rain, sport and rider-configurable, which adjusts the throttle map and traction control settings.
The electronic cruise control system is fitted as standard as well. Activated by a single press of the button, the speed can be set and adjusted up or down in 1mph increments, as well as be resumed with just one touch.
Both models feature a high functionality full colour TFT set-up with a five-way back-lit joystick. This has a minimal stylish design with two information layout design themes, and the adjustable instrument angle set-up provides optimum visibility for every height of rider. The rider can even personalise the start-up screen message with their name.
Adding extra security, both bikes have standard fit keyless ignition and steering lock, which can be disabled. The key fob can also be turned off to prolong battery life and increase security. There is also a USB charging socket in a dedicated compartment under the seat, where devices can be kept safe and dry while charging.
MAKE THE ROCKET 3 STORM YOUR OWN
With over 50 Genuine Triumph Accessories to add comfort, practicality, style and security, riders can customise their Rocket to make it truly bespoke. Customers can choose from interchangeable R and GT foot controls, rider and pillion seats for tailored ergonomics, plug and play technology for greater convenience, styling parts to customise the look and luggage solutions for longer rides. Designed hand-in-hand with our motorcycles and manufactured to the same exacting standards, all Triumph accessories have the same two-year unlimited mileage warranty as the bikes themselves.

Fuel consumption and emissions figures are measured according to the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC) under specific test conditions and provided for comparison purposes. Actual fuel economy may vary depending on factors such as riding style, accessory fitment, rider and pillion weight and tyre pressures, as well as external environmental conditions.
Over the last decade, the global motorcycle market has seen significant changes as the needs of riders have evolved in line with external circumstances.
On top of these changes, emissions regulations have become more stringent.
The evolution of the Supersport category is undoubtedly among the most noticeable of these changes.
Staying true to its brand origin and DNA, Yamaha Motor Europe remains committed to the road going Supersport segment in the future and is confident the product line-up in this sector – based on platform models like R125, R3 or R7 – will continue to excite and exhilarate customers both on the road and the track.
In line with the change in demand and customer needs, Yamaha Motor Europe has taken the decision that the future of its track-targeting Supersport models will be dedicated solely to track use from 2025 – with the R1 following the same route taken with R6 in 2020.
This is not to say it is the end for the iconic R1; far from it. Global production of the R1 will continue in 2025 and beyond, as will the development program that has seen the bike secure world titles in both the FIM Superbike and Endurance World Championships in recent years.
The R1 remains a popular choice for riders and teams looking to secure a competitive and cost-effective package for both casual track day use and racing, from the grassroots club level to national and international race series.
It is for this reason that Yamaha has consistently invested in making available to customers a range of GYTR® Performance parts for the R1, leveraging the experience of the same engineers responsible for the development of the R1 WorldSBK campaigned this year by six-time World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea.
Yamaha Motor Europe and its distributors have also set-up a dedicated network of GYTR PRO SHOPS to support riders looking to get the most out of any of its R-Series Supersport models on track.
Each GYTR PRO SHOP is run by a Yamaha dealer with a wealth and passion for motorcycle racing, who are actively involved in racing themselves and in direct contact with the Yamaha Road Racing Technical Service. Examples include Crescent Motorcycles, who operate Yamaha’s official WorldSBK team, the GRT Yamaha WorldSBK team, who recently opened their GYTR PRO SHOP at the Misano World Circuit, the Yamaha Austria Racing Team, the reigning EWC Champions, and Ten Kate Racing, the most successful WorldSSP Team ever.
While the R1 as standard is ready for the track, many track-focused customers transform their R1 from a road-going machine to a purely track-focused weapon. With the R1 moving to a track-focused model from 2025 and beyond, this step will be simplified allowing more opportunity for customers to access the performance-enhancing GYTR parts.
Throughout 2024 the road going homologated R1 and R1M will still be available through all Yamaha dealers and to emphasise their current commitment to the segment, Yamaha Motor Europe has confirmed the popular and prestigious Yamaha Racing Experience event.
Taking place at Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto on 3rd and 4th July 2024, the R1 GYTR PRO 25th Anniversary owners and 2024 R1M owners are invited (free of charge) to join this immersive racing experience, which offers a broad program of riding, plus the presence of the legendary Yamaha Brand Ambassador and R1 GYTR owner Valentino Rossi, the Pata Prometeon Yamaha WorldSBK team and other Yamaha Official riders.
Racing is in Yamaha’s DNA; and no matter what challenges may be faced in the future, Yamaha is committed to retaining this vital part of its identity, moving forwards through the continued development of the entire Supersport range both on track and on road, its GYTR strategy and the unique bLU cRU program dedicated to its racers.

Top level standard specification includes single-cylinder DOHC 4V engine, high-quality 41mm Showa ‘Separate Function’ Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks, radial-mount four-piston front brake caliper operating with floating disc, plus IMU-controlled ABS.
1. Introduction
When embarking on a two-wheeled career, there are certain fundamentals that every rider looks for from their first motorcycle: an easy-to-ride chassis, with engaging real-world engine performance, and super-agile handling. Wrap those fundamentals, however, in distinctive, classy styling and add a host of premium specifications, and the result can be an extra special machine with which to begin a life on two wheels.
It was for new riders looking for this kind of package that Honda introduced the all-new CB125R in 2017. The smallest member of Honda’s minimalist, bare-boned ‘Neo Sports Café’ family, the CB125R was launched alongside the CB300R and the flagship CB1000R, and represented a bold new, premium addition to the ranks of Honda’s entry level machines.
In 21YM the CB125R received a brand-new, 4 valve engine and major front suspension upgrade, keeping it at the head of a competitive field, and at the top of many young riders’ wish list.
For 24YM, the CB125R is compliant with new EURO5+ emissions targets and the addition of an all-new 5in full colour TFT display, all-new switchgear and four new colours heighten the appeal even further.
2. Model Overview
The attention-grabbing style of the CB125R is a real standout feature among its peers and sets it apart from the homogeneous crowd.
Peppy and fun to rev, the EURO5+ DOHC 4V engine delivers a healthy 11.0kW power with 11.6Nm torque. And 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks bring big-bike suspension quality to a small bike. Braking is equally impressive: a 296mm floating front disc is worked by a radial-mount, four-piston caliper with ABS controlled by Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). For 24YM a new 5in full colour display and new switchgear add further appeal.
The 24YM CB125R will be available in the following colour options:
**NEW** Matt Cynos Gray Metallic with Black sump guard and shrouds
**NEW** Pearl Cool White with Matt Cynos Gray Metallic sump guard and shrouds
**NEW** Reef Sea Blue Metallic with Matt Cynos Gray Metallic sump guard and shrouds
**NEW** Pearl Splendor Red with Matt Cynos Gray Metallic sump guard and shrouds
3. Key Features
3.1 Engine
Single-cylinder, DOHC 4V, liquid-cooled
11kW peak power, 11.6Nm peak torque
EURO5+ compliant
The CB125R uses its very own EURO5+ compliant 125cc, DOHC 4V engine design which produces 11.0kW @ 10,000rpm and 11.6Nm @ 8,000rpm. Top speed is 105km/h, with 0-200m covered in 11.3s. The gearbox is six-speed.
The 24YM CB125R features a new, catalyser in the exhaust system, with no loss in performance.
Bore and stroke is set at 57.3 x 48.4mm, with compression ratio of 11.3:1. PGM-FI fuel injection feeds cleanly through the inlet duct, air cleaner connector tube and resonator. The exhaust is underslung and exits through a dual-chamber muffler.
The new EURO5+ emissions targets, which will become a legal requirement at the end of 2024, sees the introduction of new ‘on-board’ monitoring of the catalyst, the lowering of the threshold for identifying a fault and therefore warning the owner earlier, stricter noise restrictions and improving long-term exhaust emissions.
3.2 Chassis
41mm Showa’s Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks
Radial-mount 4-piston caliper and hubless 296mm floating front disc
ABS works through Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)
Underpinning the CB125R’s minimalism is its tubular and pressed steel construction lattice-style frame. The swingarm is manufactured from steel plate, irregularly shaped in cross-section. Both are designed to achieve high longitudinal rigidity and control torsion from wheel deflection without excess rigidity or weight.
The chassis’ core strength is anchored by the pressed steel swingarm pivot plates and swingarm, allowing the frame to deliver agile handling with stability and feedback; rake and trail are set at 24.2°/90.2mm.
A 51.5% front/48.5% rear weight bias provides a positive feel for front-end grip and easy steering which is also helped by the low, 130kg wet weight and compact 1345mm wheelbase. Fat bar-style handlebars turn through 40° and the 2.3m turning circle guarantees easy passage in jammed city traffic. Seat height is 816mm.
41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks use a pressure separation damper in one fork tube and spring mechanism in the other deliver high damper performance and lighter weight. Together with the use of a larger sized piston the result is increased feel, bump absorption and control. The rear monoshock is non-adjustable.
The rest of the running gear comprises a 296mm hubless floating front disc, gripped by a radial-mount Nissin four-piston caliper, the rear 220mm disc a single-piston caliper. Both are modulated by 2-channel ABS. The high specification system works through an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to give precise front to rear distribution of ABS operation depending on the vehicle behaviour. A 150/60R-17 radial rear tyre is matched to a 110/70R-17 radial front.
3.3 Styling & equipment
New 5in full colour TFT meter inherited from CB1000R
New left switchgear
Industrial minimal styling with four new colours and new ‘big logo’ graphics for a bold visual impact
Full LED lighting
10.1L fuel tank gives 460km range
The CB125R’s styling is unique to the machine, following the unmistakeable ‘Neo Sports Café’ design language of the CB1000R – minimalist retro styling with a very modern twist – and injects a harder-edged attitude to Honda’s entry level range. For 24YM, this styling has been enhanced with the addition of an all new 5in full colour high-visibility TFT screen inherited from the CB1000R. The screen offers three types of speed/rpm display – analogue or bar, according to rider preference – as well as fuel gauge/consumption, gear selected and customisable shift-up point on the rev-counter. Management is via the new left switchgear, which is both stylish and intuitive.
The cutaway tail unit is compact in the extreme and holds the rear mudguard mount. Both rider and pillion footpeg hangers are aluminium.
Full LED lighting – including indicators – adds a further premium feel and contributes to mass centralisation. The headlight uses a dual bar light signature, upper for low beam and lower for high beam and the taillight remains thin and stylish.
The 10.1L fuel tank is hidden underneath an angular cover and shrouds and houses an aircraft-style filler cap. With fuel economy of 45.5km/l (WMTC mode), the CB125R can cover over 460km from full.
The 24YM CB125R features colour matched big CB125R logos on the radiator shrouds, and negative coloured Honda Wing logos on the tank. The only exception is the Matt Cynos Gray Metallic colour scheme, which is unique in the line-up, with gold CB125R and Honda Wing logo on shrouds and tank respectively.
4. Accessories
A full range of genuine Honda accessories are available for the CB125R and include:
5 stage heated grips with memory function
15L rear seat bag, expandable to 22L, complete with rain cover
12V ACC socket
5.Technical Specifications
ENGINE
Type
Liquid-cooled 4-stroke 4-valve DOHC single cylinder
All specifications are provisional and subject to change without notice.
Please note that the figures provided are results obtained by Honda under standardised testing conditions prescribed by WMTC. Tests are conducted on a rolling road using a standard version of the vehicle with only one rider and no additional optional equipment. Actual fuel consumption may vary depending on how you ride, how you maintain your vehicle, weather, road conditions, tire pressure, installation of accessories, cargo, rider and passenger weight, and other factors.
The CB125R receives four new colours, a new full colour TFT meter and EURO5+ classification for 24YM.
Ever since its introduction, the CB125R has been a bike that has stood head and shoulders above its peers. Powered by its fun and peppy 125cc engine, the CB125R has been the gateway for many into Honda Neo Sports Café ownership, all of whom have benefitted from rich specifications and minimalist retro styling presented with a very modern twist.
Together with the additional premium touch of a new 5in full colour TFT meter inherited from the CB1000R, the CB125R gains four striking new colour schemes for 24YM that ensure it will continue to stand out from the crowd for years to come.
The new screen offers the rider a choice of three types of display for speed and rpm, and clearly shows information on fuel consumption and gear selection; it also features a customisable shift-up point on the rev-counter. The screen is paired with an all-new left switchgear, which is both stylish and intuitive.
The 24YM CB125R will be available in four new colours: Matt Cynos Gray, Pearl Cool White, Reef Sea Blue Metallic and Pearl Splendor Red with colour matching rear fairing. All feature colour-matched big CB125R logos on the radiator shrouds, and negative-coloured Honda Wing logos on the tank. The only exception is the Matt Cynos Gray Metallic colour scheme, which is unique in the line-up, with gold CB125R and Honda Wing logo on shrouds and tank respectively.
For 21YM, the CB125R gained 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks from its Neo Sports Café sibling, the CB650R, bringing real ‘big-bike’ suspension quality to a 125cc machine. It also received an all-new engine that delivers a healthy 11.0kW power with 11.6Nm torque, which for 24YM, is homologated for EURO5+.
As we step into spring, dust off the cobwebs and open our garages, Catawiki and Deus Ex Machina have announced that they are joining forces for a second time for an exclusive online auction.
Deus Ex Machina, renowned for their expertly-crafted custom parts and hand-built motorcycles, have only made their unique creations available on an auction once before, also through Catawiki. The custom bikes in the upcoming auction, each completely unique and recently crafted in the Milano workshop, can typically only be ordered privately and so this online auction, only on Catawiki, is an exceptionally rare moment. For the first time, the custom bikes are joined by vintage bikes from the Deus garage, these classics are owned and used on a regular basis by Deus Ex Machina partners: who are not only entrepreneurs but also riders, bike enthusiasts or collectors.
Launching on Friday 22 March, the auction features 18 bikes, eight of which are Deus Customs and four of those are available without a reserve price. Of the custom bikes, the auction includes a custom Fantic Caballero 500, “Deus Fuoristrada”estimated between €10,000 – €12,000 euro with no reserve price. Works carried out in the Deus workshop in Milano include, swingarm modification and new FTX suspension, custom vintage style saddle in handmade eco-leather and a 70s rubber licence plate holder. Another bike without a reserve is “The Deus Milano Street Tracker”, a 1983 Yamaha SR500 estimated at 8,000 – 10,000 euros. The addition of an Ohlins rear shock absorber, 19′ Excel rims and a UFO headlight mask are amongst recent Deus adaptations.
Alessandro Rossi, Deus Ex Machina Director said, “We’re kick starting spring with enthusiasm. All of the bikes in this auction are incredibly special and unique and there is a history behind each one. I want to emphasise the fact that these bikes are not only collectable but are ready to be used and we are excited to welcome them to this auction.”
The Catawiki and Deus Ex Machina auction takes place just a few days after the beginning of spring, marking the perfect time for motorcycle enthusiasts to reopen and even add to their own garages as the weather warms up. Last August Catawiki saw a 60% rise in motorcycle sales on the platform compared to the previous year, and this auction gives fans the chance to get ahead of the summer rush.
Catawiki Senior Motorcycle Expert Davide Marelli said, “This is not only an auction but a celebration of a lifestyle. With Deus Ex Machina, we are bringing their cutting-edge design and street-honest industrial art to Catawiki’s passionate global community of motorcycle enthusiasts, just in time for these bikes to hit the roads over the summer months.”
The auction builds on the success of the inaugural 2022 collaboration which saw the sale of a Swank Rally XSR, a Yamaha XSR700and a Yamaha Teneré, which went for €24,000 and €22,000 respectively.
This exclusive auction is live from 22 March 8 PM CET – 2 April 8 PM CET exclusively on Catawiki.
Catawiki is the leading online platform for special objects that fulfil people’s passions. More than 75,000 items are offered for auction each week, each examined and selected by one of Catawiki’s hundreds of in-house experts specialising in art, design, jewellery, fashion, classic cars, collectables and much more. Catawiki is headquartered in Amsterdam and has over 750 employees worldwide. Express your passion on catawiki.com or download the app.
About Deus Ex Machina
Deus Ex Machina is a step bigger than a brand: it’s a culture. Its openness and enthusiasm strike a chord with people, wherever they are. Deus (“day-us”) didn’t set out only to sell custom parts and hand-built motorcycles, but to celebrate a culture of creativity in its apparel collection, stores and cafe.
The Deus philosophy recalls an era before the various pursuits of fun – motorcycling, surfing, skateboarding, whatever – were marketed into fundamentalist factions. All are welcomed under the Deus roof, where there’s simply respect for the honesty and enjoyment of the machine. Inclusiveness, authenticity, enthusiasm. It’s a simple and sincere pitch that has winged Deus Ex Machina across the world. Deus Ex Machina says simply there’s no ‘right way’ to do individualism, it’s all the same juice. Currently, there are 14 Deus flagships worldwide: SYDNEY | BALI | L.A. | MILAN | TOKYO | BIARRITZ | IBIZA | AMSTERDAM | CAPE TOWN | BERLIN | SEOUL | SAO PAULO | BORDEAUX | BOSCOMBE. Each with its unique feel and style but the one thing that remains the same is the culture that Deus instils.
As the flight cases have made their way back from the MXGP season opener in Argentina, the 2024FIM Motocross World Championship launches into Europe for the first time, to intuXanadú – Arroyomolinos for the MXGP of Spain!
The hard-pack circuit in Arroyomolinos, close to the Spanish capital of Madrid, was first introduced to the MXGP calendar in the pandemic year of 2020, and instantly the local fans got their wish with an overall win for their hero Jorge Prado, only his second in the MXGP class at the time!
Fast forward four years and that home hero, now racing for Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing, is now the reigning MXGP World Champion, and carries the fabled #1 plate with a red background to his native country as the series leader, following his victory at the YPF Infinia MXGP of Argentina.
This circuit has seen two overall wins for Jeffrey Herlings on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, and last year was a historic one as he broke the all-time record for Grand Prix wins with his 102nd career victory. “The Bullet” goes into this round only 7th in the World Championship and looking to make up some of the 22-point deficit to Prado, who has four other World Champions immediately behind him in the table!
This time around we will also see the opening rounds of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship and the EMX250 Championship, with last year’s WMX Silver Medallist Daniela Guillen providing the Spanish fans with another home hero to cheer for on the RFME GASGAS MX Junior Team, as she looks to go one better than her 2022 overall finish of 2nd overall after a loudly-hailed second race win! She has a tough task ahead of her though as reigning World Champion and F&H Racing Team debutant Courtney Duncan has won all three WMX GPs at the venue!
Jorge Prado equalled the record of legendary Belgian racer Eric Geboers with his 39th career Grand Prix win in Spain, and looks to be riding a wave of confidence as he regained the red plate on Sunday after losing it to Team HRC’s Tim Gajser following the Slovenian’s win in Sunday’s RAM Qualifying Race. Gajser has not won a GP race yet at intu-Xanadu Arroyomolinos, and will be out to stop Prado from pulling away any more than the three points between them right now.
Level with Tim in the standings is Kawasaki Racing Team’s Romain Febvre, and despite his obvious hard track prowess the Frenchman also hasn’t had the best of times around the Spanish circuit, with just one race win here back in 2021, and of course suffered a massive first corner crash on Saturday that left him with no points from the event in 2023.
The only former World Champion not on a full factory team, Pauls Jonass, nonetheless scored a fantastic weekend in Argentina to lie 4th in points for Standing Construct Honda. The Latvian is suddenly right in the mix and has genuine podium prospects in a country that he has won in, back in 2018 at Red Sand.
Maxime Renaux of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP is the only rider to have won in both classes at this circuit, having taken MX2 victory in 2021 on his way to the world title that year, and a maximum double race win in 2022. Last year’s visit was not so sweet, however, as he picked up the foot injury that put him our for most of the season.
Looking to bounce back into form on home turf, after being forced to miss Sunday’s races in Argentina, is the next big Spanish talisman Ruben Fernandez of Team HRC. A lower leg injury picked up in a first corner incident has been worked on and he will be pressing for his first points of 2024. Standing Construct Hondaman Alberto Forato is in the same situation after problems with a haematoma kept him out of the opening races. Josh Gilbert also returns for Gabriel SS24 KTM after crashing heavily out of Saturday’s race and has allowed an elbow injury to heal up in time for Spain.
Sadly we will not see Brent van Doninck of JM Racing Honda or Jago Geerts for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP due to their injuries from Patagonia. We wish them both all the best with their recovery.
Argentina saw total domination for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing as Lucas Coenen won the RAM Qualifying Race on Saturday, then his teammate Kay de Wolfcompleted stunning charges in each of Sunday’s races to finish as the overall Grand Prix winner and the new MX2 World Championship leader.
MX2 saw the younger stars of the sport absolutely lay it on the line in a sequence of thrilling races, and the Spanish round should be no different as the hard-pack specialists look to take advantage before the season heads to the sands of Sardegna for round three. Neither of the men in white shone here in 2023, so the chasing pack is full of hope!
Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Simon Laengenfelder would have been frustrated to not win the overall in Patagonia, as the German won the first race of a Grand Prix for the last five rounds in 2023, and did so again in South America! As with the last four rounds of last year, however, he could not convert that into a GP win, and lies just six points shy of De Wolf in the Championship. He should be full of confidence heading to intu Xanadu-Arroyomolinos though, as he won both of Sunday’s races with authority last year. With the feel-good buzz sure to surround his team due to Prado’s presence, Simon will once more look for perfection on the Iberian Peninsula!
Third in the table with a steady 40-point haul in Argentina was Thibault Benistant for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2, and the Frenchman just missed the podium here last year so he will be looking to get up there! He was denied in 2023 by eventual World Champion Andrea Adamo, who lies 5th in the standings for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
The revelation of Argentina was doubtlessly the pace of Mikkel Haarup for the brand new Monster Energy Triumph Racing team, as a fine 2nd in race two on Sunday put the new British machine onto the podium in its very first Grand Prix! Both the Dane and his 10th-placed teammate Camden McLellan have been training in Spain throughout the winter, so they will feel at home this weekend!
The Spanish brand that is Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing will look for more from its rookie sensation Marc-Antoine Rossi, who nearly won his first full Grand Prix race before a small crash, and a poor second moto left him 6th in the Championship. He too, likes the Spanish terrain! Local riders to look out for this weekend include the WZ Racing Team’s Oriol Oliver, and Fantic Factory Racing MX2 pilot David Braceras.
The series will also welcome back one of its stars from 2023, as Liam Everts hopes to have recovered enough from his injured thumb to join the fray for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
MX2 – World Championship Top 10 Classification: 1. Kay de Wolf (NED, HUS), 56 Points; 2. Simon Längenfelder (GER, GAS), 50 Points; 3. Thibault Benistant (FRA, YAM), 40 Points; 4. Mikkel Haarup (DEN, TRI), 38 Pts; 5. Andrea Adamo (ITA, KTM), 37 Pts; 6. Marc-Antoine Rossi (FRA, GAS), 32 Pts; 7. Lucas Coenen (BEL, HUS), 30 Pts; 8. Ferruccio Zanchi (ITA, HON), 28 Pts; 9. The FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship gets back in action at the iconic Autodromo Internacional do Algarve
Eight rounds, 16 races – and it all starts this weekend! The FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship bursts back into life at the Grande Premio Tissot de Portugal as the 18-strong field get set to tackle the rollercoaster, with Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) back to defend his crown.
The Italian is one of three MotoE™ title winners on the grid in 2024 as Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE™) and Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team) also return with the hope of taking more electric class glory. Ferrari was the quickest of the trio in the Portimao Test, closely followed by Casadei, but racing is a different story.
Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™) topped the times in the Test. The six-time 2023 podium finisher – one of those being a win at the Sachsenring – heads into 2024 in fine form and is another to watch in the title chase. Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) will also fancy his chances of a title tilt, the Brazilian looking to bounce back from an injury-hit 2023 and launch a more consistent season in 2024. He remains the MotoE™ rider with most wins, 11, one ahead of Ferrari.
Another winner from last year, Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing), was second in testing and having ended the 2023 campaign with three straight podiums, the Italian will be confident he can add more wins to his name this year. Former race winner Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™) returns to the category to ride the Ducati for the first time, and fellow former winners Alessandro Zaccone (Tech 3 E-Racing) and Miquel Pons (Axxis-MSI) remain on the grid looking to move forward after past proven success.
Many from last year’s close-fought Championship are back for more in 2024, so we’re set for a fascinatingly competitive season. Two-time 2023 winner Andrea Mantovani, now with the new Klint Forward Factory Team, and the likes of Kevin Zannoni (Openbank Aspar Team) and Kevin Manfredi (Ongetta SIC58 Squadracorse), all eye additional success over the coming months, with proven podium pedigree. Alessio Finello (Felo Gresini MotoE™) and Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team) will also look to move forward.
And what about the rookies? Pedigree is a word that also works for Chaz Davies (Aruba Cloud MotoE™ Racing Team) as the 32-time WorldSBK winner embarks on his MotoE™ journey in Portimao. Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis-MSI) impressed at the Test and in his two previous appearances, and he now joins the grid full-time along with Massimo Roccoli (Ongetta SIC58 Squadracorse) and Armando Pontone (Aruba Cloud MotoE™ Racing Team). All in all, one thing can be promised: more incredible MotoE™ races.
Just like in 2023, both races take place on Saturdays. For Portimao, you can tune into qualifying, Race 1 and Race 2 on motogp.com, in UTC:

In the adrenaline-fueled world of motorcycle racing, success isn’t just about speed on the track; it’s about mindset, resilience, and continuous personal growth. In an enlightening conversation with racing coach and mentor, Daniel Parker, we delve into the depths of his experiences, challenges, and aspirations, uncovering valuable insights that extend far beyond the confines of the racetrack.
A Positive Perspective in the Face of Adversity
Dan’s journey recently took an unexpected turn when he received a misdiagnosis of a brain tumour later diagnosed as a brain abscess. Drawing strength from his family’s racing heritage, he approached the situation with a positive mindset, embracing each moment and finding gratitude in life’s simplest pleasures. Reflecting on this period, Dan shares, “Whatever is chosen for me, I will happily accept. Every day just got better and better. I appreciate every single moment in my life. It’s an amazing chance that we’ve been given.” His resilience in the face of adversity serves as a beacon of inspiration for both his riders and those around him.
Professional Ambitions and Personal Growth
As a racing coach, Dan’s ambitions extend beyond mere victories on the track. Born into a family deeply entrenched in motorsport, Dan’s early years were shaped by the thrill of racing. Introduced to the exhilarating world of motorcycles by his father and grandfather as well as his uncles and cousins. And albeit today Dan is walking a different path within the racing paddock his son continues the ride, being an avid dirt bike rider. Dan’s path took an unexpected turn when his mother intervened, redirecting his focus away from racing. “My mum wasn’t keen on us racing,” Dan recalls, reflecting on the years when he lost touch with the sport. Despite this hiatus, the flame of passion lay dormant within him, waiting to be reignited. With this newfound determination, Dan embarked on a mission to empower others to achieve greatness, both on and off the racetrack. “I’m very grateful for coming in at the right time,” Dan reflects. “That is my ultimate goal: to have race team riders in every class and build champions.”
Navigating Setbacks with Grace
Like any journey, Dan’s path has been marked by setbacks and obstacles. From experiencing a period of depression after achieving a significant milestone to guiding his riders through injuries and setbacks, Dan understands the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. “I crashed for three months and went into depression,” Dan recalls. “It tore me apart. But setbacks are opportunities for growth. We continuously work to become better every day.” Dan’s ability to navigate setbacks with grace and determination serves as a powerful example for his riders, teaching them to overcome challenges with resilience and unwavering determination.
Values and Beliefs: A Foundation for Success
At the core of Dan’s approach lies a set of values and beliefs that guide his actions and decisions. He emphasizes the power of positive affirmations, intentionality in actions, and the importance of limiting negative influences. “Mindset is not something you switch on and off. It’s how you live your life,” Dan asserts. “Words are powerful. If you think good, you’ll get good.” By instilling these values in his riders, Dan empowers them to cultivate a mindset of success, resilience, and personal growth both on and off the racetrack.
Coaching with a Purpose
Dan’s coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in the principles of mindset, growth, and intentionality. He believes in nurturing not only the physical skills of his riders but also their mental resilience and emotional well-being.
Through personalized coaching sessions, Dan works closely with each rider to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. “I’ve got to build rapport, I’ve got to build trust, and I’ve got to show value,” Dan emphasizes. From developing pre-race routines to refining breathing techniques, every aspect of Dan’s coaching is tailored to optimize performance and instil confidence in his riders. “Affirmations as well. ‘I’m going to win. I’m going to win,'” Dan asserts. “Words are so powerful.”
A Commitment to Growth
For Dan, coaching extends far beyond the confines of the racetrack. He is committed to fostering a supportive community where riders can thrive, learn from each other, and overcome challenges together.
Through continuous learning and collaboration, Dan strives to create a culture of excellence where riders are empowered to embrace change, challenge themselves, and pursue their dreams with unwavering determination. “We fail all the time as long as we try,” Dan asserts. “As long as we try.”
Final Thoughts
Dan’s journey and coaching philosophy epitomize the spirit of empowerment and growth. From overcoming setbacks to nurturing champions, Dan’s unwavering dedication to his passion and his riders is truly inspiring. As he continues to impart valuable lessons and cultivate a community of excellence, Dan’s impact reverberates far beyond the racetrack, leaving a lasting legacy of resilience, determination, and success.

Ducati Corse and Fermín Aldeguer are thrilled to announce their agreement, which will see the Spanish rider move up to MotoGP from the Moto2 category in 2025.
Fermín will ride a Desmosedici GP for the next two years, with the option to extend the contract for another two years.
Aged 18, Aldeguer, hailing from La Ñora (Murcia, Spain), made his debut in the World Championship in 2021 directly in the Moto2 category, and he ended seventh in his debut race at Mugello (Italian GP). In 2022, Fermín completed his first entire season, and last year, he claimed his maiden victory and secured a third-place finish in the riders’ standings with five wins (four consecutive victories in the final four races), seven podium finishes, and three pole positions.
This year, Aldeguer continues to establish himself as one of the key contenders in the Moto2 World Championship, which commenced recently with the Qatar GP at the Lusail International Circuit.
Luigi Dall’Igna (Ducati Corse General Manager)
“I would like to welcome Fermín to the Ducati family warmly, and we can’t wait to see him riding our Desmosedici GP. I am thrilled with this agreement because Aldeguer is one of the strongest riders in the new generation of MotoGP. Over the last few years, we have followed his evolution; during the last season, he showed incredible speed. He is a very young guy with the potential and characteristics to do well, and we will give him all the technical support to help him grow.”
Fermín Aldeguer
“I’m ecstatic to have this opportunity; thanks to Ducati, I’ll realise the dream I’ve pursued since childhood. The time has arrived to take the big leap and compete with the world’s finest riders, and what’s more, I’ll be doing it with the best bike on the grid. I want to express my gratitude to Ducati, especially to Gigi Dall’Igna, for their faith in me from the beginning of our discussions. I extend my thanks to Luca Boscoscuro for everything we’ve shared and for what lies ahead of us this year. I’m also grateful to my family, my manager, Héctor Faubel, and everyone who, in one way or another, has contributed to my journey here. Now that I know what the future holds, it’s time to focus solely on this season, where I face a significant challenge in Moto2. I’ll give my all to leave this category with my head held high, aiming for the best possible results before embarking on the new adventure in MotoGP.”
Longstanding classic motorcycle insurer provider Carole Nash is pleased to announce its return as headline sponsor at The International Classic MotorCycle Show and the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in 2024.

Famed for its incredible guests, huge Autojumble, record-breaking Bonhams motorcycle auction, massive trade village and of course, the people that make the scene so vibrant.
“We’re delighted to be back at Stafford,” said Marketing Director Rebecca Donohue, “Sponsoring the biggest classic bike shows in the world and supporting the hobby is vitally important as looking after customers and their classic motorcycles have always been at the heart of our business. There’s no better place to experience the classic scene than at Stafford!”
Strap in as the world’s most exciting sport returns to one of its most exciting racetracks.
The opening nights of a record-breaking 2024 campaign gave us plenty to talk about as MotoGP™ heads for the Grande Premio Tissot de Portugal at the stunning Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. Podiums split by tenths, performances we’ll remember for quite some time, and a perfect opening gambit for the riders who will be aiming to lead from the front all season leaves us wanting more, more, more. So where were we?
OPENING STATEMENTS
Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) hit first with a Tissot Sprint win, throwing down the gauntlet with one of his biggest calling cards as soon as competition began. Then there was a similarly statement Sunday from reigning Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) as the #1 bounced back from a podium-less Sprint to put in a near-perfect GP race. So he leads the standings as we head onto ground he’s ruled before – but it’s not ahead of Martin.
That former 2023 duel, likely to continue in 2024, has a familiar interloper as we arrive in Portugal thanks to two stunning performances from Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) though. The South African is second in the standings after taking second in both outings in Qatar, and he’s already beaten both Bagnaia and Martin on track. Can he do that again? At this venue, with its track records, the benchmark may well prove Bagnaia, so both Binder and Martin will be eager to attack from the off. The reigning Champion will also be well aware of that.
It was a solid first weekend for Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) in Qatar but he’ll want more, and Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) likewise. On the other side of the VR46 box it’s not just more but a LOT more that will be the aim for Marco Bezzecchi after a very tough Qatar, too. Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing), meanwhile, continues in his game of catch up after missing pre-season. And then there’s Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™).
It was a good opener for the eight-time World Champion under the floodlights, but there was no podium… yet. Can Portimao change that? He’s not (yet?) won at the venue, one of only four on the 2024 calendar he’s raced at and not reigned, but it’s more experience on the Ducati every time he pits out…
Speaking of more experience with every pit out, we arrive at Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3). Slicing up the order, setting the fastest lap and even attacking Marc Marquez, successfully, was quite a debut for the rookie sensation, so now it’s time to see if he can do it again. It’s a track he knows well from every class and even before, but there’s no MotoGP™ test ahead of the action this time – can he keep that roll going? Sophomore teammate Augusto Fernandez will hope experience plays into his hands here, and Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) will want to be taking back his own headlines as he did here last season.
TRACK RECORDS
At Aprilia, meanwhile, there’s also already plenty of success to build on. Home hero Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing) is now Long Lap penalty free to put in an assault on his home track, a venue he’s already won at in some style, and where last year with Aprilia he was impressing before bad luck intervened. It didn’t for Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) though, and he was on the podium. Can he do it again?
Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing) will want to carry forward his practice pace into more once the lights go out, and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) wants a Sunday with no hurdles. The number #41 looked like he could have kept attacking for another 100 laps by the end of the Sprint in Qatar but ran out of time, before Sunday was a tougher one. Can that get rewritten in Portimao?
THE FIGHT BACK TO THE FRONT
Former Portugal winner Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) left Qatar with five points after a hard-earned P11 finish on Sunday, with progress an uphill battle as the likes of Ducati, KTM and Aprilia also made big steps over winter. But it’s all hands on deck, challenge accepted for the Iwata marque. Quartararo and new teammate Alex Rins will look to Portimao – a track the Frenchman has won at twice – as a better chance to close the gap as work and testing continues in the mission to move forward.
Castrol Honda LCR newcomer Johann Zarco fronted the HRC charge in Qatar as the Frenchman claimed P12 ahead of Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team) in the GP race. The new arrival also qualified half a second clear of the other Hondas in an impressive start. Two points finishes is also a fair start for the marque as they work to build back to their former form, but they’ll want a lot more from Portimao as they put in more and more test hours thanks to the new concessions – especially after a trickier weekend for Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda LCR) and Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team).
How will the deck shuffle as we arrive into Round 2? Does anyone have an ace up their sleeve to take on the likes of Bagnaia, Binder and Martin? The rollercoaster will reveal all, so tune in this weekend for the Grande Premio Tissot de Portugal!
TISSOT SPRINT: 15:00 (UTC) on Saturday
GRAND PRIX RACE: 14:00 on Sunday
Having gone winless in 2023, Alonso Lopez (Beta Tools SpeedUp) kickstarted his 2024 with an immaculate victory as the Spaniard fended off Barry Baltus (RW – Idrofoglia Racing GP) in Qatar.
Baltus’ debut Moto2™ podium was 0.055s off being a first GP win as the duo enjoyed a phenomenal start to the season in the desert. As too did Sergio Garcia (MT Helmets – MSI), with the #3 pocketing his maiden Moto2™ rostrum in P3, just ahead of teammate Ai Ogura.
Meanwhile, some big names expected to fight at the front this year had a tougher start. Fermin Aldeguer (Beta Tools SpeedUp) and Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) failed to get points on the board in P16 and P20, and they’ll both be craving big hauls on Sunday in Portimao to get their title hopes back on track. Meanwhile, Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) was sidelined after a crash earlier in the weekend in Qatar, and we wait to see if the Brit will be back out this time round.
Will the pendulum swing again? Tune into the Moto2™ Portuguese GP at 12:15 local time (UTC) to find out.
Last laps don’t get much better than what David Alonso (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) managed to put together in a Moto3™ Qatar GP thriller.
The Colombian was P6 heading onto the last lap but picked his way to the front to claim 25 points ahead of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) and an excellent charge from Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) as the Japanese star bagged his second GP podium from 18th on the grid.
The likes of Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Ivan Ortola (MT Helmets – MSI) will be hunting for better fortunes in Portimao after the duo crashed in Qatar. Rueda DNF’d, but Ortola did manage to string a phenomenal recovery rider together to earn P9. We can bet there’s more to come from those two, so can the comeback start in Portugal? We’re about to find out. Watch the lightweight class do battle on the rollercoaster at 11:00 (UTC) on Sunday!
The current Championship leader, Alex Lowes, is yet to clinch his first victory at the Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya, the home race for Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK.
Meanwhile, Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) boasts mastery of the Catalan track with six wins to his name. His teammate, Nicolo Bulega, aims to maintain his strong season start and translate his efforts from the Supported Test into success.
After grappling with injury-related challenges at the Australian Round, Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) seeks to regain his pre-season form with the Yamaha YZF R1 at a circuit where he has secured two podium finishes. Teammate Andrea Locatelli, currently third in the standings, is determined to bounce back with a strong result after a technical issue prevented him from contending for victory in Race 2 of the Australian Round.
Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) is poised to debut at the Catalan venue with BMW. He had a successful Supported Test prior to the Round, which suggests that he will be among the fastest during the event. Meanwhile, teammate Michael van Der Mark has previously clinched a victory at this track with a different manufacturer. Together, they will focus on adapting their BMW M 1000 RR to the circuit and aim for a strong performance.
Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) and Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team Motocorsa Racing) have both also tasted victory at this circuit. While Team HRC’s duo, Xavi Vierge and Iker Lecuona, the latter returning from injury sustained at Phillip Island, are focused on enhancing their performance for their home round.
Key Stat
6 Six different winners came out of 12 races run here so far: in 2022 Alvaro Bautista went from zero wins to the track record of three, doubling up last year, ending up at six. The only other rider to have more than one win here is Jonathan Rea at two.

All eyes will be on Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team), a double race winner, as he enters Barcelona.
Having secured all three of his victories in Australia, Montella will be eager to affirm his status as a title contender with another strong performance in Barcelona. MV Agusta had a commendable weekend at the 2023 Catalunya Round, clinching a victory and achieving three podium finishes throughout the event. Following his impressive showing in the season’s opening round, where he secured two podium finishes, Marcel Schroetter (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) is one to watch out for.
The Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team, with a previous race win in Barcelona, holds the potential for another solid result, particularly with Adrian Huertas, who finished on the podium in the preceding race. Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing), starting his 2024 season with a second-place finish in Race 1, will be eager to rebound from his DNF in Race 2 at Phillip Island. Having finished on the podium in 2023, he remains a contender for victory. Can Oncu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) also boasts a podium finish at the Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya in 2022 and is determined to demonstrate his return to competitiveness after missing most of the 2023 season due to injury.
The 2024 FIM Supersport 300 World Championship season ushers in a period of intense competition as riders prepare for fierce battles and thrilling races on the global stage, starting with the Pirelli Catalunya Round at the Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya.
With competitors hailing from renowned manufacturers such as Kawasaki, Yamaha, KTM, and Kove, each showcasing their distinct strengths and innovations, anticipation builds for an exhilarating showdown on the track in the upcoming WorldSSP300 season.
Grid updates
Reigning champion Jeffrey Buis (Freudenberg KTM-PALIGO Racing) sets out on a mission to defend his title after securing back-to-back championships in 2020 and 2023, making him the only two-time champion in the category. Transitioning to KTM, Buis seeks to etch his legacy deeper into WorldSSP300 history amidst a field of formidable competitors.
Mirko Gennai (MTM Kawasaki) emerges as one of the main competitors to Jeffrey Buis’s reign. Joining Buis’ former team, MTM Kawasaki, alongside Loris Veneman, Gennai brings his four-time race-winning prowess to the Championship, aiming to challenge the reigning champion’s dominance. Among the returning contenders are race winners from the 2023 season, including Matteo Vannucci (Pata Yamaha AG Motorsport Italia), Aldi Satya Mahendra (Team BrCorse), and Jose Manuel Osuna Saez (DEZA-BOX 77 Racing Team). While Bruno Ieraci (Team ProDina Kawasaki) also clinched victories as a wildcard entrant in the previous season, he returns full-time to the championship, as does Inigo Iglesias Bravo (Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki).
New regulations
In line with WorldSSP, the WorldSSP300 category experiences notable shifts in scheduling, with a significant change being the determination of grids for Race 2 based on the fastest laps recorded in Race 1. Additionally, the Tissot Superpole sessions occur on Friday following a morning Free Practice session.

Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) showcased their prowess on Day 2 of the Supported Test, engaging in a tight battle with Bulega ultimately clinching the top spot by a mere 0.027s.
Meanwhile, Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team) displayed commendable pace, securing third position despite encountering technical issues and a crash earlier in the day.
Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) showcased impressive performance, securing fourth place despite encountering an issue at Turn 5. Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) continued to build confidence, securing fifth place and finishing just 0.6s behind Bulega’s best time, indicating strong contention at the upcoming Round. Teammate Andrea Locatelli demonstrated resilience, overcoming knee pain from his Australia Race 2 highside to finish within the top six.
The day was not without drama as Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) led for Kawasaki despite two crashes, ultimately finishing in 9th place. Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) suffered a late crash at Turn 10, disrupting his momentum, and finishing in 16th position by the day’s end. Xavi Vierge (Team HRC) led the charge for Honda, demonstrating improvement after a challenging Day 1 for the manufacturer.
P1 | Nicolo Bulega | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati
“We didn’t do anything special, just some different setups. We tried something different, but then in the end, we came back, especially after the small crash I had at Turn 1. We regained our feeling, so ultimately, it was a good test.
I’m happy because my pace was also good. I did a great lap, but not in perfect conditions. Also, when I tried again with the second soft tyre, I made a mistake, and I was one tenth faster than my fastest time, but for just a test, it was good.”

Zero, the leading EV motorcycle producer, is aiming to save UK car commuters from wasting two weeks sitting in traffic.
Recent data from the UK Government shows that the average commuter spent 1hr 17 minutes per day sat in traffic in 2023, that’s equivalent to 14 days per year and up 6% from 2022.
With the average commute standing at 19.5 miles each way, commuters having to commute into the city fared worse, with London particularly bad. City of London commuters are delayed an enormous 2 hours and 22seconds per day. That’s the equivalent of 837 hours a year, or over thirty-four days. Average speed was also the lowest at 13.6 mph, down from 14.3 mph in 2022.
However, there is a solution – motorcycles. It’s estimated that on average, motorcycles take approximately 16-46% less time to cover the same trip through congested traffic than a car. That’s a saving of almost a week over the course of a year.
There is a significant cost benefit in going from four wheels to two – especially when it is an EV, such as Zero. Cutting costs on tax, fuel, ULEZ, and congestion charges is yet another benefit to avoiding the rising levels of congestion. As an approximate saving, a Zero rider travelling into London five days a week will save £120 per month on fuel, £250 on ULEZ charges, and £300 on congestion charges.
For that reason, Zero have launched their ‘Own Your Commute’ campaign which seeks to encourage more riders to make the simple switch to electric motorcycles. With just a simple CBT (Compulsory Basic Training), completed in a day, the world of two-wheeled commuting is unlocked, and sitting in congestion a thing of the past. For just £9,995, car drivers stuck in traffic can make the switch to effortless and affordable commuting.
Dale Robinson, UK Country Manager at Zero Motorcycles, said: “We live in a world where time is precious. Lost minutes can have a huge effect on your productivity, attitude, and even as far as your mental health. Being able to maximise your time on the things that truly matter is of huge importance.
“Think about the last thing you did with a bank holiday weekend. Spent time with the family? Went to the beach? Took a long weekend away with a partner? What I can guarantee you didn’t do was sit in a traffic jam from the very beginning to the bitter end.
“When the cost benefit and the time benefit are unrivalled by going onto two wheels, I challenge you to find anyone who wouldn’t want a shorter journey that costs less.”

Weise Wave 2.0 waterproof glove now with 1-KP rated knuckle protection.
Weise have given their popular waterproof summer gloves a host of upgrades for 2024, making them even more practical for riding in warm but changeable weather conditions. The addition of 1-KP knuckle armour on the Wave 2.0 adds to their appeal for adventure riding, while their flexibility and waterproofing will make them a popular choice with commuters and leisure riders too.
Comfort and control
Key to the Wave’s comfort is the synthetic suede and Spandex textile construction. It’s tough, yet lightweight and flexible, giving freedom of movement, and allowing plenty of feel and feedback from the controls. Silicone printing on the palm increases grip on the bike’s bars and levers; just as important on a busy ring road as it is on rocky mountain passes.
mcTex™ and mcFit™ Technology
A dependable mcTex™ waterproof and breathable membrane keeps hands dry and free from the effects of windchill. The warm Tri fleece lining is secured with mcFit™ technology, so there’s no uncomfortable stitching or seams, and it won’t twist or pull free when you take off your glove.
1-KP Protection
Protection is taken care of by 1-KP rated TPU knuckle armour. There are additional padded palm panels and the tough suede shell is dual-layered and triple-stitched at critical zones.
Touchscreen compatible
The short cuff design sits easily under riding jackets, with hook and loop closure for a snug and secure fit. There’s no need to remove the gloves to operate smartphones or sat navs either, since both the index fingers and thumbs are touchscreen compatible.
Weise Wave 2.0 gloves retail at £99.99 a pair, including VAT. They come in a choice of Black or Grey, in sizes S-2XL, and are covered by a two-year warranty for complete peace of mind.
